  1. Wow! Good for Schenn. Way too rich and long for our blood
  2. Woof! Big money for a goalie that was sub .900 sv% the last 2 seasons
  3. Yep, his agent publicly stated they were talking to 10 teams. Nothing wrong with it.
  4. As mll said they wouldn't want to qualify him, have him elect arbitration and then get paid a big amount. If the amount is less than 4.5 and change the team amcannot walk away from it. So say he gets a 2.6 million dollar award they are handcuffed with that deal. This is one of the reasons we didn't qualify bear (the injury was the nail in the coffin)
  5. I could see the ducks, hawks, sharks or coyotes going after bear in free agency. None of them are worried about competing this season anyways. Could pump his tires and use him as a deadline chip.
  6. I'm sure they have a handshake deal that if they are out of the running at the deadline they will try to move him to a contender.
  7. Futher to that... The guy had 17 points in 66 games while playing less than 10 minutes of even strength time per game with 90.9% Dzone starts. This guy should have been in the all star game .
  8. He was a UFA and picked teams that he had a good shot at the Cup with... those very good teams wanted him and paid him well. The guy is a career top 4 dman who is 34 years old and will be looking at a 2 year deal at a decent rate. Soucy is a career 3rd pairing dman who will be 29 and looking for 2nd pair money at longer term. Not excited about that contract. I'm with you on the Schenn front though would love to have him back next year.
  9. Luke schenn was a +15 and +9 on this team the past few seasons. Myers was +15 a few years back and Bear was +6 last season. Not hard to believe a very good defensive defenceman could pull a +13 or more.
  10. No to Pesce. Too old to give up premium assets for. We already have Hronek who we will be signing long term and Willander will be here in 2 years. I'd rather sign a couple UFA Dmen to 2-3 year contracts as stop gaps.
  11. Chicago is just ruthless with their one year overpayments. Perry has averaged 28.6 points per season over the past 3 years. In those 3 seasons combined he made 2.75 million. Now he gets 4 million for one year? Insane!
