  1. Expected every clip of Chara hitting guys when they are down? Everyone is smaller than him so the point being...?
  2. Not a fan of Kane but that was a headshot and he had the right to be mad.
  3. Go to 2:10 of the video to see him violating the code in the NHL.
  4. If Chara is on Vancouver, he will ben banned for the season. Imagine Boston had our team, Sedins, Kesler, Burrows, and Luongo. We had Boston's team, Chara, Thomas, Lucic, etc. I bet that we get swept in 4 games. Kesler, Burrows, and company will crash the net like crazy and will get away with everything because the refs aren't going to call anything against Boston. Cross checks to Sedins will get penalized promptly, allowing the league's best PP to score over and over again, nullifying one advantage that Chara led Vancouver has over Sedins' Boston, which is physical play. When McQuaid drives Raymond to the board and breaks his back, McQuaid will be given 5 minutes and suspension for dangerous play resulting in potentially career ending injury. When that POS Rome hits Horton, Rome will not get 5 minutes nor any suspension.
  5. Dude, watch the video "Chara a dirty player" posted by OP. It's full of clips where Chara (playing in Europe at the time?) hitting smaller guys when they are down.
  6. I think Boston's owner is one of the few owners in charge of hiring and firing of people at the NHL head office. It makes sense.
  7. One more video showing a cowardly tap: Being on the receiving end of mercy, you should know to give one out. He didn't. A cheap player on the ice, probably a decent human being off the ice though.
  8. One of the dirties and cheapest players of all time for me. He is a player that lets the emotion get the best of him more often than he should and uses that as an excuse/justify his inexcusable actions. Remember when he fought against Neil and Neil just took it to him? How Chara puts up his hand up cowardly and asks Neil to stop? Well, when he was on top, he never stopped punching the other smaller guys. For example at 0:20 of this video: .
  9. This is an interesting lineup. Although Podz won't be on the team until the season after next due to his KHL contract. IMO, Petey needs puck on his stick and with Miller, he is playing like a supporting player. Miller needs to drive his own line and the same with Petey. Toffoli is really good at finding open space, and he has found chemistry with Miller already. Boeser has chemistry with EP. And Pearson has good chemistry with Bo. Gaudette-Miller-Toffoli (Both wingers can find open seams and shoot) Virtanen-EP-Boeser (Virtanen and EP forechecks, Boeser can make plays with EP, all 3 guys can shoot) Pearson-Horvat-MacEwen (Match up line that brings high intensity forechecking) Motte-Beagle-Roussel Eriksson (I'm assuming he doesn't retire and we can't trade him) Defensive pairing of Juolevi and Tryamkin should be sheltered but it comes with a lot of promise.
  10. We have our 1st rounder if we don't make the playoffs so let's not wait a minute.
  11. Bad penalties. But most importantly, poor puck management in the third. They don't know how to defend a lead. This team is getting exposed without Marky to bail them out in the 3rd period.
  12. Thanks for that info. But wow! What was Lamoriello thinking? What was the reasoning for firing? And it's not like he had a better candidate because he named himself the coach and the only got to the 2nd round.

Load management also applies to player coming off a severe injury and has higher risk of sustaining further injury if body is not properly rested. If applies to OJ.
  14. Yes. It's not on Benning. He revamped forwards and defence as promised. I'm not sold on Green but I'm for giving him the chance until the end of the season. Firing Green now will be a mistake in my opinion... I don't even know if any coach has been fired this late in the playoff race.
  15. At this point, he is getting Sebastian Aho contract, 8.5M, 9M at most. His comparable is Aho (8.5) and at best Raantanen (9.5) at this point.
  16. Yes. But Green will be canned. Whether they will be fired or not is irrelevant to whether they went "all in". All they got is Toffoli. That doesn't qualify as going all in.
  17. I too think that EP will figure it out. But I don't know if the management went "all in." They got Toffoli so that they have a chance while Boeser is out but didn't acquire anyone else.
  18. I'm starting to feel a bit worried about EP. He is showing signs of fatigue. The calmness and confidence he displayed for most of the season is replaced by frustration.
  19. A lot of people forget that Demko is technically a rookie this season. He definitely needs more experience. He is #4 among rookie goalies in W http://www.nhl.com/stats/goalies?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20192020&seasonTo=20192020&gameType=2&isRookie=1&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=wins,savePct&page=0&pageSize=50 but only #7 out of 8 in Sv% among rookie goalies that played at least 10 games http://www.nhl.com/stats/goalies?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20192020&seasonTo=20192020&gameType=2&isRookie=1&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,10&sort=savePct&page=0&pageSize=50 I'm also not sold on Demko yet but he just doesn't have enough body of work yet to impress anyone. And only a fool would call him a failure at this point (Demko's rookie season).
  20. Everyone sucked today except Motte, Beagle who did their job.
  21. i agree with this and I was hoping for Makar to fall. but in hindsight with us drafting Hughes a year later, it worked out for the best that we got EP even if he turns out to be the second best player from that draft. Just glad things worked out the way they did.
  22. You deserve an upvote for seeing this thread nearly 2 years in advance. Dahlin may end up as a better overall player but Quinn won't be far off as an elite defenceman in the league for the years to come.

I disagree. Podkolzin is coming for 2021 season, and if he makes the Canucks right away (i.e., no AHL time), he can slot in for Tanner Pearson on the left side and may even be better to start his NHL career on the third line. Virtanen is probably much effective as a 3rd line winger, think about Chicago's 3rd line in 2010: Ladd, Versteeg, Bolland. We could have ice a great 3rd line with Pod-Gaud-Virt. It's unfair to compare to Chicago, whose scoring from wing position had Hossa, Sharp, and Kane. I think we are missing an elite winger and the best we can do is to compensate by having many quality wingers. Miller-EP-Toffoli Pearson-Horvat-Boeser Podz-Gaud-Virt
