  1. Schneider 8:34 tonight. Good looking prospect but very raw still. I still want to keep Miller. Give him to NY so they can win a cup? Nah.
  2. This deal makes LA better immediately and helps us in a couple years. They are a division rival. Means this deal makes it harder for us to make the playoffs. Because of that fact - hard no.
  3. I get what you are saying. Don't forget though, EP played in the WC at 19 and again at 20. So they will play the younger guys if they see them as really helping the team. And politics can come to play as well.
  4. First - where is the picture? Second - bar room gossip? What does that mean? I guess it means that somebody other than Tryamkin said it. Until proven otherwise I maintain that Tryamkin speculation has the same value as the Ogopogo. They are both big and thus have an enduring legend. But stories about both are not likely true...lol.
  5. We're waiting to sign a guy who isn't on the WC roster for Sweden nor is he playing for them. He is kind of on their taxi squad...hmm. Politics I guess. Disappointing that he hasn't made their team. Get him signed and come over for camp and see how he looks. If he's not ready too bad down to Abby. I'm still hopeful he can be an NHL'er and produce for the Canucks, but this isn't the best.
  6. The part that really made me laugh was traded almost everybody but kept Dickinson.
  7. 32 - 15 -10 under Bruce. 2nd best in the Pacific. Bruce is coming back. He says we have unfinished business. He thinks this team is close. Stop the crazy trade talk. It's like diarrhea. The only goal is to make the playoffs next year . In the playoffs you find out who you are as a team. Then you decide the moves to make.
  8. Canucks goal next year is playoffs period. Getting in the playoffs teaches teams whet they need to do to be successful long term. People need to stop playing chess with these endless moves to "impove the team" by trades and endless bs. It's simple really Get in the playoffs and learn who you are. That is it. And it should be the goal every year until Petey and Hughes are old.
  9. OEL is 5 years younger than Edler - who is still playing well. OEL has been good since he has been here. He has 5 years left on his contract. The most you could say is he might be over paid a mill or so. He is not LE. IMO keep him and he's a great top 4 LD behind QH and will hardly start to decline by the time his contract is up. I don't see any urgency to move him - not to mention he has a NMC and by all accounts is popular in the room. So I vote to keep him and look elsewhere for improvements. I also think he will be better next year than last as he is now a Canuck for a year and knows what is expected of him. Guy is a good player.
  10. He has chronic migraines. These typically onset in the 20's. For some people this condition worsens over time and is debilitating. It could potentially derail his NHL career. It cost him most of the last season. There is a possibility he takes a long time to get over it (as in years). It will be interesting to see if he is ready to start next season and if he has a recurrence. If so he could be in danger of a long term problem. Alternatively, if he is ready to go next season and has no recurrence, he is good to go. At this point it is an unknown.
  11. Glad you finally realize he will only get a decent return in a trade - not a massive haul. As such signing him to a reasonable deal , if possible, is not so far fetched partner. As I have said, let's wait and see who is right. My guess he is re-signed. I would actually like it if you would move on to talk about some other possibilities that are exciting. Kuzmenko, Podz and Hogz development, Karlsson, Klimovich development, some of the UFA's out there this year. Keeping Miller when we have a lot of other irons in the fire is not as dire as you keep repeating over and over.
  12. I guess we will see what happens won't we partner?
  13. The trade Miller proposals all have the same fatal flaw. Every one of them say the same thing. "We need to trade Miller cuz he is turning 30 and has one year left on his affordable contract - and he will want a big payday to re-sign and he will start to decline 2 to 3 years into his new deal". Every one of you guys needs to understand - that this is exactly the reason why no team in the league is going to pay a lot to get Miller. So trading him will not return the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that your endless rambling posts suggest. Management will try to sign him to a reasonable deal. If they cannot then he will be traded but the return will be underwhelming. No where near the massive hauls that the trade Miller crowd naively think he will garner.
  14. Nobody is saying stay static. But we are saying don't chuck out what is good in order to pronounce that new management are in charge. They need to understand what this team and this fanbase had been through in the last 8 years and deal with this team accordingly. There are good things here. It is not a tear down. It needs smart changes that make sense. Changes that can be accepted by the core of the team. They need to be patient to figure it out not jump to conclusions based on the 6 monthe they have been at the helm. Bottom line is they have to prove themselves worthy and prove to many of us that they know the path forward to success and are not going to F it up.
  15. This team has had a ton of change. They are starting to come up off the mat and right now need less change not more. They need more optimism more BB and more support to complete a season and make the playoffs. Continuous change is the wrong thing right now. Sorry but I can't buy what you are selling. I just hope the new management isn't bent on what you say as the way to go or we could wind up with a mess.
  16. Haha what you smoking partner? Petey hughes Boes Garland Podz Hogz Demko Martin Rathbone are all trending up - they are all still getting better. And will keep improving for the next 2 to 3 years. That is 9 starters out of 19. Half the team and these are mostly top players. All of whih are getting better. The definition of trending up. Of course we are trending up. Of course we are. 32 - 15 - 10 under BB. Heading into next year. Add Miller Horvat and OEL as solid vets and even Myers as a heart and soul guy. This is a playoff team on the rise that needs a couple of upgrades and does not need wholesale changes. You smoking the bad bong partner.
  17. He had an off year and he loves it here. He is the one guy who will sign a home town discount. Watch it happen partner.
  18. If you want that major haul from NYR for Miller you better cheer for Pitt to knock them out. a poor playoff result for NYR means more likely they consider the trade you want. I just think we should keep our powder dry and make smaller moves while making the playoffs each year..
  19. I think making the playoffs next year is critical to the long term success of this core. You can't keep handing them sh*t seasons. They need to taste success. Keeping Miller IMO makes us better next year and keeps the core happy including Horvat. Look for other ways to improve the d but not trading Miller. I think it would be a major step back for the team (ala when Benning lost Tanev markie and Toff).
  20. IMO moving Miller makes it less likely we make the playoffs next year. You want to lose Horvat as a UFA? I think he has been clear that he does not want to be part of another rebuild. There are surely other routes to improve the d without dealing Miller. I think the team wants to win now. They don't want to get some draft picks and another young guy at the cost of Miller. I just don't think the room wants that.
  21. If Poolman stays on LTIR and Boeser signs for 6.25m or less there will be money for Miller and Horvat (as 4m in dead cap frees up in another year). So yes it is possible. Strategic moves not wholesale change is what I am saying.
  22. It depends on which camp you are in - the one that feels we are close or the one that feels we are a long ways off. Personally I want a couple strategic moves but not major surgery. The new management needs to realize what this team has been through before launching into major changes. They have had terrible coaching with WD and then TG. Terrible. They have suffered some awful seasons as a result. BB came in and turned it around for them. There is confidence growing. I don't want to see that tossed out like it doesn't matter. The new management also does not understand what this fan base has been through. BB is the first real coach we have had in 8 years. And he is loved by the fans. I sure hope he comes back for next season cuz losing him would be really lousy right about now. The new management needs to be patient and not go out of their way to make their mark just to show who is in charge. I think Petey Hogz podz Boeser Garland Huggy Rathbone Demko are all still improving. That bodes really well for the near future. Horvat and Miller are solid. IMO we are not that far off. Improving the D without upsetting the apple cart is what I want to see - and continuity at coach thanks. As a final thought I believe the goal should be making the playoffs the next 6 years in a row. I believe playoff experience will mold this team into a contender - not trying to "fix" it with wholesale personnel changes so that management can declare "Allvin there it is!"
  23. Pens are now leading the series 2 - 1 with Domingue in net? Domingue?? This is officially the weirdest year in history.
  24. Do JR and Allvin have any idea that this is the case?
