  1. To me if jake ends up being an energy guy on the “3rd line” and can pot 15-20 goals a year then that’s fine. If he can be a pain in the a$$ for other teams in the playoffs then that’s better than some soft perimeter “top six” guy who disappeares when the going gets tough. It takes all types to win a cup.
  2. That would explain a lot of his high lights are from the right side. Thanks
  3. Question for you, does McEneny usually play the left side? I assumed he does simply because he’s a lefty but noticed in his high lights he ends up on the right a fair bit.
  4. Well supposedly that list is a consolidated industry ranking but who knows. There’s still a full season ahead before the draft so rankings will change quite a bit from now until then. One can dream.
  5. Would love to see benning make a trade for a late 1st and take nolan foote.
  6. I thought Hutton played fairly well last night, obviously the one gaff on Ratties goal but overall a solid performance. I am however quite surprised at the amount of people pencilling him into the opening night roster and literally no one talking about pouliot. The way I see it based on last season and the fact that pouliot looks like he’s in better shape this year with slightly improved skating I think he’s still a step ahead of Hutton. Of course this could easily change in the next few pre season games.
  7. Motte actually has 1 more game before becoming waiver eligible IIRC and I’m thinking the team will use that to their full advantage and start him in utica. He most definitely will get a call up at some point though perhaps after benning makes a trade or two.
  8. Nice to see the dub being represented so heavily for next year in the first rd.
  9. Totally agree there’s no sense giving him a contract now. Hopefully surgery goes smoothly and he’s back to normal sooner than later. Maybe he signs an AHL contract with utica once healthy again.
  10. Damn! Was hoping he’d get a contract as well. Rooting for this guy big time
  11. Yesssss let the hate flow through you
  12. Politicians americans deer (eat my garden) slow walkers/ looky loos/ people on their god damn phones not looking up when they’re walking! skinny jeans sloppy toques know it alls Consumers/ people who make unnecessary amounts of garbage
  13. I agree there is a lot to it and don’t get me wrong Guddy is no lidstrom. There is a lot to say for chemistry between players and I would think knowing what the other guy is thinking and capable of is pretty important in a D pairing. Hopefully they both have better years next year
  14. I would strongly.... agree! with that statement. Definitely not a good pairing together. Just seems like a lot of people on here liked blaming Guddy when Hutton was equally bad or worse when they first got paired up.
  15. I would strongly disagree that guddy was dragging Hutton down, if anything it was the other way around. Once Guddy was paired with edler we started to see him play to his potential meanwhile Hutton was riding the pine. I’d also say judging by Guddy’s signing and Huttons healthy scratches that benning and green both agree.
  16. Lol ya it’s quite the chicken little mindset this fanbase has in general. It’s a disturbing cycle between media and fans of general negativity. I think it started with the fans dealing with losing teams for so long and the media realizing this and taking full advantage a la botchford, gallagher, mcrae etc.
  17. @aGENTLol it is comical. Right now our prospect pool is very deep but some won’t make it. People better be ready for a little more disappointment, can’t expect every pick to become an all star. Hopefully we’re covered between demko and dipietro
  18. Gotcha. I was hoping he might be ready for backup role next season but if he isn’t ready I’d rather they don’t rush him either.
  19. Interesting. I wonder what the plan is going forward with goaltending next season then. Are we in for another year of Marky and Nillson or is cull saying he’s not ready right now as in this season? Nice to hear good things about Macewen
  20. Is Gadjovich not eligible for utica next year?
  21. I agree and like I said with all these injuries there's no excuse to not give jake more opportunities to score, more specifically on the pp. A couple pp goals could really boost his confidence and bring his offensive game along I think .
  22. Jake is the player I'm hoping steps up the most with all these injuries. No excuse to not give him some pp time, he's got all the tools to be the exact type of player this team needs right now, a power forward.
  23. The more teams there are the less chance there is of making it whether it's on paper or on the ice. Of course there are plenty of other factors involved but that doesn't change the fact that if you're 1 of 10 teams as opposed to 1 of 50 teams that your odds of winning the cup decrease dramatically with the latter scenario.
  24. I just see the league getting more watered down and mathematically the more teams there are competing the less chance a team has of going to the finals.
