i disagree hes 33 has 7-9 seasons left in tank   if he has really giod next three yrs of 45-50 goal seasons  hes  close enough to 99  to have few 20-30 goal seasons   i truely believe he might hit 1000 if he stays healthy and has a good center feed him puck

I can see minimum 3 more 40 + goal seasons in Ovechkin. He does play a more physical style game but is also a big body who can withstand that style.

Also point out yes maybe he could produce 40/50 goal range for more than 3 seasons, but the exciting part which tells me as hard as it would be to get to a chance to be the alltime goal scoring leader is where he scores his goals.

He gets his goals from close range, he can own that spot with his size another 8 or more seasons if he chose to play that long. Think Bill Guerin and other vets on their last legs...... in Pittsburgh Guerin racked up goals from the same spot in close being fed on the power play. Ovechkin has more size and speed so assuming he wants to even if he slows down he has mastered scoring from that range. It would be tough but until we notice a drop overall in his game he is deadly with the puck on his stick, then it just comes down to positioning.

Considering only 1 player has EVER scored 50 goals at 35 or older in NHL history, I find it unlikely Ovie would be putting up 50 goals at 38. It's just not physically possible.
