  1. I don't know about that. Henrik put up a lot of points that year Daniel went down to injury for a while. In fact, that was the year he won the Lindsey and the Art Ross if I am not mistaken.
  2. That's the issue though, you can stand firm but what about that guy in jail? How is he standing?
  3. The thing that bugs me is that why did the US need to drag Canada into this in the first place. Canada was doing just fine and if the US was going to do this, they should have done this on their own. Now as of result Canadians are in the cross hairs and we are stuck in the middle. There are many Canadians who have built a good life here and in one fell swoop, now we are in a messed up situation. What? Now we need to pack up leave the lives we built here and go back to Canada because of this friction? Friction that did not have to happen?
  4. She got pinched because of trading with Iran right? For violating sanctions put in place by the US, not necessarily by the UN because it was the US who backed out of the Obama signed deal in the first place which made trading with Iran perfectly fine.
  5. I fully supported that criticism. But to cause a diplomatic nightmare in arresting someone on transit under the request another government on the same day as the President of said government meeting and agreeing to halt the tariffs that are plaguing the economy. That's a far step. How does this incident help Canada in anyway?
  6. I respect that, but what I don't respect is when people come out and call out everyone who is of Chinese ethnicity for something most of us have nothing to do with. When people come out and say the Chinese did this and the Chinese did that. I'm Canadian but I am of Chinese ethnicity, I have never did this or did that but yet I feel like this blanket term "The Chinese" is directed at me because I am part of that race.
  7. I am sure that Canada is a tolerant, accepting and respecting country for you but we grew up differently. You may have a more tolerant view than others but that doesn't mean that everyone is like that. On the streets, if anything goes wrong, it is easiest to blame the Asians. Just look at the boards themselves. If there is a chance to attack Chinese people on this boards, there are certain people who jump at that chance and use the same insults over and over again. In regards to the violation of human rights comment, my question is why is it that people like to bring up China's human rights record so much yet gives the US a pass? If Canada likes to be a country who likes to take the moral high road then people should be defending human rights in every country. Problem is that people only like to do that with the Chinese.
  8. My distorted view vs the lack of your ability to try to see things from another prospective. Why is it that when my views...views that you can not comprehend because you are not me then must be distorted? Just because they differ from yours? We live in very different worlds and the things that we have seen are completely different and thus we have different views on certain things. While our opinions don't necessarily agree, I'll respect yours while you respect mine. That's how it should work. It is too bad you feel you need to add these little digs in to make your point when it feels like your points would be better received without your digs. Are you not dismissing other's as in myself for saying I have a victim complex when you don't even know who I am? If you going to join into a conversation come in with a point but immediately attacking me with this victim complex nonsense? Seriously? You need to rely on personal attacks to talk to people? Man, I really hope you are just a persona and not like this in real life.
  9. Easiest way to get away with things for you isn't it. Just dismissing other's and the stuff they go through so you can continue to think that you aren't so bad after all and continue your generalizations about the culture you particularly like to pick on. I get it.
  10. I have paid my fair share to the Canadian tax system to people who are perfectly capable of finding a job but choose not to so they can receive government assistance but guess what? It's not only one race that is doing it. So don't sit there and blame them for a flawed welfare system. It's the government that is too lazy to fix it that you should have a problem with. As for saying the wealthy from China come to China to Launder their ill gotten gains. Why don't you prove it? Because the amount of Chinese immigrants who come to Canada with hard earned money far outweighs the ones who don't. Don't judge a nation by only a few. That's like saying all certain people are idiots because Trump is an idiot.
  11. Everyone in the city was talking about how they needed to make room for the younger guys. Everyone from the sports fans to the media. The Sedins handled it with the class that they have always shown but all that talk will get to anyone.

  13. The cost of the properties she owns, if she doesn't buy it how many others can afford it? If she was buying up a million to 5 million dollar homes is one thing but she's not in competition with people wo are on less of a budget.

  15. I'm a little behind in my Jett Woo knowledge. If you had to compare him to an NHL player's style of play, who would it be?
  16. I know he needs to play and everything but man I wish they would call him up.
  17. I wouldn't give up on him just yet. Power forwards tend to take more time to develop. I still remember when we gave up on Neely then look what he turned into. Or when karma came around and the Islanders sent Bertuzzi to us. Need to be patient with the power forwards.
  18. smokes

    Weed

That's not really fair. If an American smokes weed in Colorado, does that mean they can't cross state lines?
  19. Did I read the stats right when it said Petey got 5 points in 13 minutes of ice time?
  20. Why not? Parents buying houses and real estate for their children is a very common thing over here. We have all seen the frugal Chinese parents save and scarpe their pennies so their kids couls have a more comfortable future. It is no different than when parents pay for their children's tuition. It's interesting to me how people like to complain about the real estat market being purchased by the Chinese when the Americans are buying up all the companies. But yet, there is less of an uproar over that. In integrating with Canadian values, the Chinese are not the only ones. I've been to many places in Surry where I can't read the signs that are not Chinese or English. But that is up to the Canadian government and it's vision for a vertical mosaic. If the government chose to make Canada into a melting pot, things would be a little different. But that happens everywhere you go. There are tons and tons of people from Canada, America, Austrailia, Britan etc. who have come to China and all they do is hang out with other Expats and don't really talk to the Chinese people here. Much like Canada the people who come here live 10-15 years here and don't even speak a lick of Chinese. If you go to Thailand, you will see tons of Americans who have lived there for years and never integrated. People stick with thier own people and that's just the way it is. I know what you are talking about with CBC's hating on FOB's because I grew up doing the same thing. But after living here and understanding the people and the way they live in this country things changed.
  21. Letting him get his feet wet with a handful of games versus having an extra player you can protect in the expansion draft doesn't make sense though
  22. No, Chinese kids end up having to quit hockey because coaches would rather not play them and let them get better. http://www.ohrc.on.ca/en/preliminary-findings-inquiry-assaults-asian-canadian-anglers/negative-attitudes-towards-asian-canadian-anglers Negative attitudes towards Asian Canadian That is from the Ontario Human Rights Commission https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/should-historic-racism-against-chinese-canadians-be-enough-to-kill-new-chinatown-condo-1.4386459 Should historic racism against Chinese-Canadians be enough to kill new Chinatown condo? That's just a couple of articles out of a whole lot.
  23. Really? Considering how long the Chinese have been living in Canada...How many Chinese people are there playing in the NHL? How many do you see on local television programs compared to people of other races? Even the percentage of Chinese Canadians in government is not even. Canada can go ahead and try and boycott Chinese products but considering that almost everything you see is made in China, you are going to see a lot of empty stores. Also the rich Canadians maybe able to boycott cheap Chinese products but what about the Canadians who are on limited incomes? Can they afford expensive US or european products?
  24. You might be fine with that but if that really happened and the Chinese decided to boycott Canada, Canada's economy would go down faster than Trump's approval rating.
  25. Canada welcomes Chinese money, not the people. Universities have massive Chinese enrollment numbers because international student tuition is much higher than tuition for a local student.
