Common sense
@wet: I have completely forgotten my high school law - what if said youth at that time is now charged as an adult?

BurnabyJoe
I just saw the parents on CTV news. I can't imagine what they are still going through. This beating was so cold, the dad was livid when he saw the kid who did it. I feel for him. Hope he gets life.

Wetcoaster
He won't....at least not in the sense that you're thinking. If he's a good boy....he'll be out in 15....at the earliest, I believe....unless he gets double time while in custody waiting for trial..then it may be sooner. bikeme
He'll probably end up in protective custody for his whole sentence, the worse part for him will be after he gets released.
MillerGenuineDraft
http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Young+offender+faces+years+prison/4323622/story.html No way.. this is unbelievable.. this sick bastards only getting 6 years of prison. He's caused Delta an entire lifetime of pain, and all he's receiving is 6 years, and 4 years of supervised release. This just pisses me off. pimpcurtly
No one has pushed around the idea that the defense team could be calling for temporary insanity. Remember the guy who had his head chopped off in a random attack on a bus? The murderer wont spend a day in jail. I really hope that doesn't happen in this case. The Brahma Bull
Don't think it really matters on the sentence length in this case. That dad is so pissed off. I don't think that kid stands a chance once he's out. Her dad is friends with some hells angels members on top of that, right? yup, he's screwed. canucks_dynasty
Insanity plea won't work if it's believed that the murder was pre-meditated.
