The whole Luongo vs Schneider arguement ends here. Do the Luongonites now suddenly concede that Schneider is the better Goalie? Don't you think Columbus would give up their first for Luongo? but only Schneider? haha arguement settled!

I think any trade with CBJ, TB or NJ has to involve Johansen, Connolly or Larsson? I mean, we really need that impact young player in return. I would be quite disappointed in MG if all we got were picks and prospect projects that might not have an impact next year. At least those 3 can play and have big upside and potential.

Schneider is an RFA at the end of the season. All we can trade are his rights. Therefore the return will not be as good on a trade as it would be if he had 1+ year(s) left on his contract. If MG's asking price for CS's bargaining rights, teams will just wait until July 1st and throw an offer sheet at him. Unless they offer and he signs for 3.5+, we are NOT getting much back in return, certainly not a 1st overall.

Luongo isn't going anywhere. I still find it astounding that so many people think he is a sub-par goalie. I understand that he has bad games, and some of those bad games have been high profile games, but GOOD FRIGGIN GOD, this guy is the best goalie Vancouver has ever had the luxury of putting in net, and that includes Cory Schneider. Schneids is very calm and poised and positionally sound, and he rarely has a bad game, but he does not have the ability to step up and steal games the way Luongo can, and did 3 times in the Stanley Cup Finals alone. Too bad the rest of the team couldn't show up and win one for their goaltender.

I have faith in this team. If you don't have faith in this team (the entire team), don't celebrate their wins. If you want Luongo to fail, then you want the team to fail, and inherently you are not a fan of this team. A fan does not want their team or any part of it to fail. Cory Schneider is not the saviour of this team. If he takes over as number 1 and Luongo leaves, in 3 years time all you Luongo haters will be calling for Schneiders head.

Get a friggin clue, or get off the bandwagon and walk away. I hear Buffalo is a great team to follow.

Here's the thing...at the trade deadline teams are going to be getting a goalie who has never been a starter in the NHL, who has played in 64 NHL games (spread over 4 seasons and never more than 29 games in one year), and has a total of 163 minutes of playoff experience.

I love the guy, but if I'm the GM somewhere else, I am not selling the farm for a guy with little else on the resume other than great potential. Let's say that Columbus trades away Rick Nash for Cory (I am trying to be ridiculus here by the way) and then finds that he doesn't want to sign in Columbus for any amount of money or won't go longer than a year or two on the term...RFA or not, Columbus has a problem on there hands.

I will be surprised if Cory yeilds anywhere near what people are saying he should. It isn't because he is not worth a lot to any team, it is because it wouldn't make any sense for any other team to give up huge assets for him. Everyone knows he won't be returning to Vancouver and Vancouver really has no choice but to trade he.

Barring a sign and trade deal, he will bring modest returns at the trade deadline.

If Canucks win the SC this year, will Luo waive his NTC and be traded to Tampa (which will be close to Florida where I think his wife would love to live)? If he's willing, I would rather have Schneider over Luo, just because he's young and have a great future. Though its true that CS lack playoff experience this is because Luo was playing. Who knows what CS could do during playoff time.

This is a genuine question...if Luongo chokes in the playoffs and we go out first or second round, surely the Canucks will do all they can to keep Schneids and ask Lu to waive his NTC. What are the chances of a him doing this and b it happening? I'm not saying he will choke but everyone is saying it's bang on that Schneids will go but.....
