Cristalinastar
No there is a reason why I didn't want Torres on the Canucks and it wasn't because I thought he couldn't be an effective player. It was because he is a out of control coke head.
WPGFan
Has Raffi Torres had a shift in the 3rd?
The Brahma Bull
I think this playoffs is going to force changes in the NHL. They are going to hear it from fans, GM's, coaches, etc etc regarding the amount of blatant violence and injured players. Something has to give. DIBdaQUIB
Of course refs miss calls, and I honestly think this is what happened tonight, not that they thought it wasn't a penalty but simply missed it.
lateralus
keith's hit is much worse since its intent to hurt. this one torres is just finishing his check..too bad what happened to hossa, hope he's ok but this one should have max 1 game suspension. but knowing shanahan.. oldnews
Marchand's super dirty cheapshot on Salo (also one of the most respected guys in the league) could have ended much worse.
lateralus
Yeah, nhl needs to grow a pair and discipline players like the NFL. Also, the players need to have respect for each other. It doesn't matter how long a player is suspended. If they have no respect for each other, some jackass will still pull this stuff no matter what the punishment. DIBdaQUIB
No of course not but that's why there can be other punishments.
Serendipity
Doesn't seem like there's much any respect between players anymore, there's a lot of this stuff going on these playoffs. NHL doesn't know what they're doing.
DIBdaQUIB
So if D. Sedin doesn't get injured you'd be ok with a one game suspension? Injuries play a factor, that's never going to change.
lorentjd
Jesus, you are the posterchild on why people think Canucks fans are a bunch of homers and idiots. One of the most talented players in the game gets taken out on a stretcher, obvious hit to the head, and you're cheering your head off. Hopefully Hossa is okay, never like seeing any player taken out on a stretcher.
iinteenseee
Really? You're comparing Torres to Cooke? Maybe the old Cooke. There's no doubt the new Cooke has reformed himself to FIT into the NHL style while still being a pest. Take your head from your arse
L'Orange
Brenadan Shanahan and Gary Bettman can take the blame for this. Their idea of "player safety" is sickening and leads to players being seriously injured. I hope Hossa is okay. Just like I hope Clifford is okay. Just like I hope Daniel is okay. However Henrik could have been taken off in a stretcher very easily had he been hit a couple of seconds later by that a$$h0l3 Dustin Brown. It's just a matter of time before someone dies out there. Good ole NHL.
Kubrick
I think Hossa is embelishing for a steeper punishment, he had enough awareness not to let his head hit the ice. Also, was able to turnover to his side immediately afterwards..ensuring Torres is out for the remainder of this series, cause he is a gamechanger against chicago. domyours
Quenneville says "makes me sick" ooohhh yah? well Keith's hit on Daniel MAKES ME SICK! (and the daniel hit was in regular season play.) sigh.
WPGFan
I was actually thinking the same thing when he said that. Well, Quenneville, what goes around comes around. BTW, leave the sour face at home., you make me sick.
Canucksbiggestfan
I'm gonna say 3 games for Torres.
shazzam
- late hit - left his feet - similar hit in regular season which result in suspension - injury to Hossa - not a star player 5 games
deized_kanuck604
Torres terrible skating and his brutal game changing penalties will not be missed. I just dont see why anyone would want an aging player who has no real skillset except borderline hits ?
etsen3
Wow, I know people will say it's karma for the Keith hit, but Keith is Keith and Hossa is Hossa. Hossa has never dished out a dirty hit like Keith has, and you hate to see anyone stretched off the ice. Hopefully he's ok. Now to the hit itself, I like Raffi but he can be an idiot sometimes. The hit here wasn't a direct headshot, but it was a tad late and he did leap into the air to make the hit - that's a big no no. Hossa's neck whipped pretty hard, wouldn't be surprised to see one of those whiplash/concussion type injuries. I can see a suspension coming for this one, especially if you look at his past history.
