AnInconvenienceBrah
this does make things REALLY interesting! there are no clear number 1 goalies available now... I also don't see LA trading Bernier this offseason and Calgary seems to not want to rebuild so that'll take Kipper off.
oldnews
Aside from the increase in his trade value for the Canucks, the other positive is the respect that Luongo is due and this might finally open the taps in that respect - I am hoping he really gets a boost from the implications of all this. AnInconvenienceBrah
Don't forget the possibility of Fleury being moved, 5 million cap-hit for his performance is looking pretty bad.
Peter Gunn
Love it. The cost to obtain either Luongo or Schneider has just substantially risen. And oh by the way, if the projected cap goes to 70 mil and the CBA doesn't mess with it, Luongo's contract will be even less of a burden.

Snake Doctor
I think teams will be more willing to pay top dollar for Schnieder even though he has yet to play as a full time starter in the NHL.
The Sedin's 6th Sense
With the news of Thomas and Vokun off the trade market now, we're going to get a MASSIVE return for either Lu or Schneids now....their value was already off the roof, and now with the shortage of top goalies, man their values ripping past the troposphere now. Noheart
Ok so a 35 yr old back up goalie gets signed and Luongo's Value is = to Toronto's farm? Come on guys!! Jonathon Bernier Anders Lindbäck Josh Harding Brian Elliot Still better fits for the teams that need goaltending Im not saying Bobby Luo sux, his contract is what will drive his value down. We will still need to gobble a toxic contract in return.

Noheart
If I were a GM looking to make the playoffs, I would take Luongo and his ~5M cap hit any day for the next 7 years over any of those guys. Bernier and Lindback are not even close to being proven starter. Harding hasn't had a healthy season. We don't even know Blues are willing to trade Elliott, who actually signed for 2 year extension just last season. With Thomas being Thomas, and Vokoun being signed for 2 years in Pittsburgh, it definitely gives MG more leverage in trading Lu. It's becoming more and more obvious that Burke will trade for Luongo. bd71
Does anyone think that Burke wanted Vokun anyway? Surely he could have given up his seventh round pick to negotiate his rights.
CrippledCanuck
Who says TO wants a 70 game starter? You know that old fool is still in love with Reimer He may be looking for a young cheeper option to stay with a tandem All of this Luongo to TO is speculation anyhow
