Dazzle
How hard is it to choose a brand that you're being sponsored by? I'm drinking a Coca-Cola right now. Coca-Cola Zero sucks though - makes me sick after drinking it. But then again, I was running/exercising after drinking it - so that's probably why. Grapefruits
I'd say it depends on whether or not Ronaldinho violated the terms of his endorsement by consuming a competitor's product...
Jester@wraiths.ca
When you're being paid to represent the product, it's directly against it to be seen using their biggest competition's product. Makes sense to be pissed about that when you're spending so much on the advertising with the guy...

Mr. Ambien
Or you know, maybe the dozens of unnatural chemicals that they saturate it with to make it taste sweet despite the lack of sugar.
Columbo
Unnatural chemicals are used in our every day diet, despite this contemporary and convenient criticism of it, but I do agree that it's folly to believe Coke Zero is any healthier than regular or Diet. Mr. Ambien
Depends what you're buying. Don't by processed foods, cook for yourself (with free-range meat etc.), and you can avoid most of that crap quite easily.
Columbo
True but even the organic brands found in most supermarkets use similar pesticides, foods as natural as peanuts contain flavour additives, most of what we've produced is unnatural as far as using human ingenuity to modify something to our own tastes, as long as it's not carcinogenic and drastically unhealthy (and if it is, with an appropriate warning) I don't see the problem. I'm personally aware that Coke is synthetic garbage but it goes better with rum than water.
Mr. Ambien
True enough, it's hard to avoid it completely. But there's a difference between eating an apple that was sprayed with pesticides harmless to humans and which I can wash anyway, compared to chugging half a litre of water saturated with strange chemicals. But I agree, I enjoy Coke (actually moreso Pepsi ) every now and then too. I'm not saying not to drink it, just to the original poster, don't be surprised when it makes you feel funny! Dazzle
I only bought Coke Zero because it was the only Coke offered at the vending machine the other day and it sucks! I don't feel sick when I drink original Coke.
SukhKular
Do you remember Chara drinking a bottle of Coke on bench during the 2011 Playoffs? Gatorade (owned by Pespi) has a deal with the NHL and apparently the league had hush-hushly talked to him about drinking Coke. It's not the same as this situation though. Chara wasn't being paid by Pepsi. If I was being paid millions by Coke, I'd drink Coke. Coke tastes better anyway... Forgot both of them actually. PC Cola FTW! Lockhart
Nobody seems to mention the fact that the team he plays for is sponsored by Pepsi, that's why those cans were there. They probably wanted to drop him anyway and this was just another excuse.

ronthecivil
If all you are selling is caffeinated sugar water virtually identical to your competitors then what business advantage could you have OTHER than excessive marketing? Of course they take it seriously!
