Got to meet Flames coach Bob Hartley today, he was a pretty cool guy.

Scott Howson was there but he went in the media entrance before I could get a picture.

Marc Bergevin was in the arena but I never came across him.

My goal is to meet everybody.

Only about 7 billion to go.

I'm playing Boedker, Schroeder, Kassian, Gormley, and Goncharov in the NHL this year.

My balls have never felt so immense.

Yeah well I'm playing Suter and Weber in my top-4! Might even consider giving Seidenberg a few minutes!

......balls.

Plus he has a pretty cool name. I used to trade for him in NHL 2004 (I think) every time.

Ya same man his name is badass.. and he wears a tinted visor.. only other d-man i can think of that has is Weinrich

A bit dissapointed with my free agency but didn't have the money to spend like other teams. The major addition was adding Mikhail Grabovski to the lineup. Did pick up some solid depth players; Jonathen Ericsson, Tanner Glass, Harry Zolnierczyk, Cam Atkinson, Charles Hudon, and Guillaume Desbiens. My Penguins lineup is pretty much set for the start of the season:

James Neal [A] - Sidney Crosby [C] - Milan Michalek

Ryane Clowe - Mikhail Grabovksi - Ryan Strome

Pascal Dupuis - Brandon Sutter - Tyler Kennedy

Casey Cizikus - Colin Fraser - Cam Atkinson

Tanner Glass

Kris Letang [A] - Andrej Meszaros

Alex Goligoski - Jake Gardiner

Griffin Reinhart - Simon Despres

Jonathan Ericsson

Marc-Andre Fluery

Dan Ellis

I went very defense heavy this year instead of offensive heavy like I usually would. I should get alot of blocked shots, combined with Crawfords skillset. I'm hoping to be in the running for the Jennings award.

Scott Hannan will be used heavily on the PK to free up Bogo and Johnson for regular time and Powerplay.

Defense

45% Bogosian - Johnson

40% Larsson - Del Zotto

15% Liles - McBain

Penalty Kill Specialist is Scott Hannan, Scott is high on takeaways last season with 57 and only 3 giveaways. CGY system last seasons left him with a -11 but we expect that to change this year.

Ottawa Senators

2014-15 In Depth Lines

1st

Before this year, Ottawa has had many problems trying to find a good left winger to play with All-Stars Jason Spezza and Phil Kessel. We tried using Kunitz, Dubinsky, MacArthur, Clowe, and Michalek but none of these players clicked. After acquiring Joffrey Lupul, this issue was finally solved. With a ton of chemistry with Phil Kessel, we felt that pairing those 2 together again while being centred by a superstar would create some damage around the league. And it did. The first line is a lock with those 3.

2nd

The 2nd line is Ottawa's biggest question mark. We have never had a good second line, even when we had a line of Kunitz - Roy - Havlat, the line still wouldn't produce. We decided to trade all 3 of these players and re tool the 2nd line, and the team. We paid a high price for Roy, but we got a great return for him in 2 1st round picks and Kyle Okposo. We are hoping Connolly, MacArthur, and Okposo can develop some chemistry to finally give Ottawa some secondary scoring

3rd

Our bottom six has a completely new look to it. We decided against another scoring line this year (previously was Dubinsky - Connolly - Filatov). We feel we have a great checking line in Armstrong - Matthias - Hayes. All 3 are shutdown players and have over 70 DF and CK. This line will be a nightmare for the oppositions top line.

4th

Our 4th line is now an energy line. Centred by the faceoff specialist and defensively sound Dave Steckel and on each of his wings are two goons that are there to cause a spark and protect Ottawa's stars. McLaren and Parros are valuable additions.

Extras:

Lombardi and Eaves give this team great depth in case of an injury. Eaves can easily step into a 3rd line role, and Lombardi could play on the 2nd line if needed. Alberts provides us depth on the back end incase of any injury. Phillips can move up in the line-up incase of injury and Alberts would man the 3rd pairing.

1st D:

On the 1st pairing we have two bonafide top 2 d men in Pitkanen and Karlsson. We are hoping for chemistry to develop between the two and they will play a huge offensive role for us.

2nd D:

Our shutdown pairing includes Trevor Daley and Ian White. They are both defensive beasts and will block a lot of shots for us, and will be manning the 1st penalty killing unit with Matthias and Hayes.

3rd D:

On the final pairing, we are giving young D Yann Suave a shot. We feel he is ready for a full-time NHL role and he will be paired with veteran Chris Phillips to help mentor him into a solid 2 way defenceman.

Goaltending:

Craig Anderson will obviously be our starter. He is our franchise goalie and has always performed at a high end level both seasons. He will be playing 57 games this year. The other 25 will go to young backup Eddie Lack. He will learn from Anderson and will be the goalie of the future.

In:

Okposo, MacArthur, Hayes, Parros, McLaren, Steckel, Lombardi, Daley, Suave, Lack

Out:

Roy, Brunner, Gerbe, Dubinsky, Filatov, R. Johnson, Volpatti, Regher, Montador, Auld

We have removed 10 regular players, and are actively seeking to move an 11th.

We are happy with our re-tool and we are looking forward to the season. We are a younger, more balanced team.

As much as we don't get along most of the time I must say CanuckLax is the NHL Red Wings of STHS drafting.

I can't believe he got Nikolaj Ehlers 76th overall this year. This kid might go top 20 in the 2014 draft. I was watching some of his moves and they are saying hes the most highly touted Danish hockey player ever.

Well done with that pick, hell of a late find..
