(Article)NHL goalie rankings: Is Luongo still elite?

It prevents teams like Boston and LA from pushing the smaller Canucks around and ultimately would have lead to a stanley cup win by the Canucks.

Oh I thought you were done?

Questioning my hockey IQ when you think that pushing players after the play equals winning games.

The Canucks had no powerplay production, a depleted D core, no healthy second, and no shutdown/faceoff specialist left. Pretty much everything that made them successful during the season. Oh and they were facing a Vezina goaltender who absolutely caught fire.

Anyone who knows anything about hockey knows these were the reasons for their collapse. Not a few scrums after the whistle.

AKA you lost the argument so you act like an immature little kid to try and make it look like you won something?

Just proof that you are probably in fact a 12 year old kid.

And yes goalies who are top 10 in the league and who will likely play on Olympic teams are elite. Not sure why that's so funny.

LOST THE ARGUMENT? Hahahahahahahaha. Says the guy who said Schneider wasn't good a page or two back and then said he was going to dominate with the Edmonton Oilers if he went to them.... "My name's De Niro... I can patronize people and call them little kids to feel better about myself and act like the only one who knows anything about the Canucks." How long have you been watching hockey? Let me guess.... 15-20 years?? Hahaha. What a goof.

The Canucks had NO push back that series.. During the first two games, the Bruins did NOTHING to physically manhandle the Canucks but when Rome threw the hit it "woke the bear" If they had even a little pushback and a guy who would actually stand up to 5'9 Brad Marchand, the Bruins aren't controlling the game like they did after the first 2 games.. You obviously don't understand or haven't watched the series over to find the real reason the Canucks lost it... they were intimidated and they lost because of it.

Again your maturity shines through. And by the way adding a bunch of "hahaha's" doesn't make your points more convincing. ;)

I'd like to see a quote where I said Schneider wasn't good. Al I've said was he hasn't carried a team for an entire season or won a playoff game. That isn't my opinion, that's the truth. Sad that you have to invent something that never happened as the basis of your argument though.

I wouldn't call you a little kid if you didn't clearly act like one. The only goof on this board right now is you sorry to say.

You laughed at the people who called Schneider a very good goalie. I don't think I need an exact quote... and then you say Schneider is elite? Your opinion seemed to change pretty damn fast when I had my opinion that it was a mistake not to take the better package from Edmonton.. "Oh, I don't want to face him when he's dominating on Edmonton" Or "Oh, he's definitely elite". You're Hilarious.

Or you know the Bruins suffocating defensive style made it difficult to produce offense when the Canucks had no healthy second line and a powerplay that dried up.

I've watched the series and I know what wins hockey games. Clutch goal scoring and amazing goaltending. The Canucks had neither. Thinking that if we added a couple big bruisers and we would have won is naive.

In that series, being able to stand up for yourself would have won the series... The Canucks were a MUCH more offensively dominant and defensively dominant than Boston was... Boston CONTROLLED the flow of the game with their goonery and they knew they could get away with it as the whistles were thrown away... That was their tactic after game 2 and it damn well worked... Did the Canucks have some injuries? Sure, but they were still a good enough team to beat Boston, hence why they actually brought it to 7.... In the games Boston won, they were MANHANDLING the Canucks.. In the games the Canucks won, they found a few lucky goals and got out of it with most of their limbs in tact... The Canucks were dominated that series because of physicality.

Again you fail to produce a quote because I never said Schneider wasn't a good goalie. You do need a quote if you're gonna call out someone for something they never said.

If you're referring to my post about people thinking that Schneider is better than Luongo, but won't get 6 million. My point was he is better than Luongo so it's likely that he would get that much.

My opinion hasn't changed once. I think your ability to comprehend things may be altered, or you're just trying to argue about nothing.

F*ck you B1tich. Report this.

DeNiro one of the few guys who posts with substance that I actually enjoy reading.

You think the Canucks lost cuz they got slapped around in 2011? The same way Chicago, arguebly a less physical team than us that year won the f*ckin cup this year right?

err I am suggesting him to report hockyspecialist for trolling? (which btw you should), not the other way around?

Anyone can go back a few pages and see what you actually wrote... and you think Schneider is better than Luongo? HAHAHAHAHA. The guy voted #36 on the top 40 greatest goaltenders of all time is worse than a guy who hasn't even played a full season? Wow you're delusional... LUONGO is elite... LUONGO is the best Canadian goaltender... LUONGO has proven himself to actually be able to win playoff games and keep his team in them.. Luongo is better at every facet of the game than Schneider is and you call Schneider better? Wow... I don't know what to say... This time I'm really done. Your posts are ridiculous and contradict things you've said in the past... Make up your mind and stick with it. Bye.

The Canucks had a few injuries? Do I really need to list all of them again?

You know the biggest thing that changed after game 2? It wasn't the hit on Horton, it was the injury to Hamhuis. That guy is the closest thing to a Norris caliber D-man we have, and without him we had nothing to shutdown the Bruins top players.

Not to mention with him and Rome gone our entire D pairings were messed up and they had to try and adjust on the fly. Which is the reason we got lit up in game 3, and didn't do much better in game 4.

Once the team had no confidence in it's D and goatending, the offense had to play it safe and hang back on every play, which is the exact opposite of what made them successful all season.

I think any person on here who knows hockey knows this is the reason we lost. Not because a bunch of grown man were intimidated by a 5'9" Marchand.
