mbal23
@blakeprice1040: Main camp roster released, and just in case you were holding hope for a tantalizingly ingenious PTO player being a surprise addition: Nope Anyone seen the roster? Warhippy
Wait....that amount of solid depth and skill still available as UFA's and no PTO at all? Rather shocking as we are still thin at a few positions
TOMapleLaughs
No PTO's this season mean 'youth in'? Or the Faq well is dry?
goalie13
I never gave much weight to the whole PTO thing. The GMs already know enough about these guys that they don't need to give them a try-out to know if they will make the team or not. I think the Canucks just used PTOs as a way to fill out the roster for split-squad games, which I don't believe they have any of this year. TOMapleLaughs
Yeah i'm kinda glad that we're skipping the whole 'Omg why didn't we sign Owen Nolan, even though he got hurt in the preseason' questioning period.
RonMexico
PTO - players desperately holding onto hope that they can still play a game that has passed them by. Canucks do not need these re-treads. The league appears to be moving away from these journeyman types as evident by guys like Morrow and Cleary not yet signed anywhere. DeNiro
Anyone that wouldn't want Cleary over Sestito or Weise are out of their minds. There are still good upgrades available like Boyes, Morrow, and Cleary, that for the right price would be great additions.

mbal23
this exactly. Hell these three guys could be our third line and still compete.
Blue & Green
Trying to get the young guys motivated because they have a better chance at making the team or challenging for a spot. I think we can fill the holes with prospects and do really well so not overly worried about that.or they have deals with some guys that they know of and want to see if any young player is ready or not and will sign them if the young players aren't ready

mbal23
Really? The prospects need to be motivated? Are you saying the young guys will work harder if there is less competition?
Blue & Green
I mean giving them some confidence and showing them its their job to lose and if they don't impress bring in an older ufa option.
