2014 Sochi Olympics Hockey Pool #2 *Pool Full*

Recommended Posts

Well it only happens every 4 years so why not do a hockey pool !

Once we get 10 GM's i will do the draft pick lottery and we can start picking. I will only pick people I likely know and trust for the ease of the pool. For January we will have a 24 hour clock on picks, once Feb hits we will go to 6 hours.

  • Each team consists of 6 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 teams goalies. (IE if you take USA Goalies you get Howard, Quick and Miller)
  • Snake draft order. Draft order to be determined.
  • The majority of the draft will be done offline, so as soon as 10 teams have been filled we will use a website to determine the draft order Website ishttp://www.draftpicklottery.com/.
  • If a player is injured before the tournament, his team may choose to replace him with another player who has yet to be drafted. If a player is injured during a tournament game, he may not be replaced.
  • If a player is chosen but fails to make the final cut for his team, his team may choose to replace him with another player who has yet to be drafted.
  • No trading picks.
  • You may change your pick at any time until the next pick is taken. The final pick is the end of the draft.

Scoring System:

  • Goal - 1 point
  • Assist - 1 point
  • Win - 2 points
  • Shutout - 1 point (in addition to 2 points for win)

I don't think we should be selecting people in this one...first come, first served or the invite only pool (that appears to have vacancies)?

I will make another pool that will consist of people on a first come first serve basis

So I'd say you put them in the order of request to join.

I don't think we should be selecting people or it can be the invite only pool?

Filling the last spot with the newcomer seems fair?

Attempting to pick the best GM's for the pool. Picking somebody new for this pool typically ends up being complicating. They might disappear for days at a time, not return etc. It's best they gather some fantasy experience and then they can be a little more trusted in these types of pools.

It takes alot of time to put these together with google sheets and point keeping. It's not worth it to risk it on somebody who might not follow through.

Just being honest.
