Dragonfruits
Who cares if the Northwest was the weakest division. The Central was the strongest and the Canucks absolutely dominated them, and every other division. Playing in the Northwest did not provide the illusion that AV's Canucks were dominant - they were in fact dominant. Their record against all opponents have been posted many times on these boards. They were dominant, period. actually it matters if the division and teams you play multiple times more than other division not sure why this is so hard to understand the Canucks were dominant for 1 year against the league in 2011 the presidents trophy next year was a fluke and they continued to slide down the west the year after in the shortened season and then continued this year in the toughest division
Jack Fig
Yep.... with a tonne of icings when we dump and change to early. All this debate about whether Gillis or Torts goes, but for me the bottomline is that the hockey we're playing is tough to watch. I hate Healy, but he highlit what I can't stand.... players not trying to make plays instead deferring to dump over and over again. Torts' style is close to being the definition of dumb-it-down hockey. Fans in this town aren't interested in watching it.

Dragonfruits
So which free agent GM is going to keep Torts next year ? Or is Fransisco going to be the GM ? Coaches aren't always fired when a new GM comes in does it happen yes of course but Coaches stay someone can look up the stats

oldnews
actually it matters if the division and teams you play multiple times more than other division not sure why this is so hard to understand the Canucks were dominant for 1 year against the league in 2011 the presidents trophy next year was a fluke and they continued to slide down the west the year after in the shortened season and then continued this year in the toughest divisionL Let's make this as simple and clear as possible. The last three years the Canucks record outside the Northwest was: 33-14 vs the Central. 22-11 vs the East. 30-17 vs the Pacific. 85-42 against non-Northwest opponents. Dominant against everyone. nuck nit
Dragonfruits,The Nucks were the best PP,best GAA,highest scoring team in the NHL.It is not a divisional issue,it is player selection.Keep mediocre third liners and let go your best players and voila! Dragonfruits
We were > .500 vs. EVERY division.. is this really that complicated Division you play teams multiple times get lots of points helps win division title and even presidents trophy other Division play 1 or 2 times a year not as many points Canucks got exposed this year playing in a weak division easy title and 3rd place finish now they play in a tough division and struggle to make the playoffs first year go figure and again this was going to happen regardless really if the divisions got changed or not Canucks were in a downward spiral since the Boston game
