How deep is our prospect pool now?

Don't forget we were Northwest Division champions for what 5/6 seasons. Cant win every draft when you are a 20th or above pick. You won't steal them all. So our prospect pool is pretty damn good considering.

Hate when you are on an NHL page and the comments by non Canucks fan state we have NO, zero, nada, zilch for prospects. We are probably in about 8-15th in the league for prospect depth.

gaunce great 2c 3b line postional center takes important faceoffs pp pk can score not the best skater

fox overage ohl crazy one timer scored 70 goals in ohl all yr 2way center or winger could be steal for free

virtanen among youngest in draft class pure sniper fastest skater in chl boy in mans body. could be a future iginla

cassels steal in later round last yr decent center point per game

mccann center point per game needs another ohl season

kenins hits and scores headache to play against. pkayed well for latvia in olympics could be ready for nhl this season

cederholm played big minutes on portland whl team might play in ahl or one more yr in portland steal of a draft pick

hutton plays in us college system big mean dman plays big minutes

we need to draft a bunch more defense prospects in rest of rounds this yr

Not sure why Kass is being mentioned, he's not a prospect. Our prospect depth is pretty average now, not deep by any means but we're starting to get contributions and should get more from prospects next season. We should be able to have sustained propect contributions moving forward which is definitely a good thing.

Defense isn't that bad, we've got Corrado, Hutton, Cederholm coming with possiblities of Subban, Mcnally, and role players like Tommernes that could see time. That's more than I can say about our winger depth, though I expect we'll be using the boston model of having 5 or 6 centers in the line up and playing some on wing.

Hopefully draft some promising D in our later draft picks tomorrow and stockpile a few of them for the team. In all honesty I wouldn't mind having a rough season next year just to try and secure a future #1 center to build around for the future. It Doesn't have to be #1 next year. Unless of course Benning picks a hidden gem who can become a #1 or can pull off an incredible trade for one. It is just easier to draft than trade for #1 potential centers usually.
