Thats called Pascal's wager, and anyone who's taken a first year philosophy course has heard it. The easy response to this is I'd rather spend an eternity in Hell then submit to a God that's will to dole out that kind of punishment to good people simply because they don't believe in him. That is NOT a God worth worshiping. We don't need, and we refuse, to be threatened with eternal damnation in order to believe

And sorry, not accidents. Chance happenings. Very small chances, at that.

There's this (verse 26 and on, but the rest is interesting). And this. And this. Have fun.

can't use your own words to describe it?

Check this link out.

“Scientists have calculated that the chances of something so patently absurd actually existing are millions to one.

But magicians have calculated that million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.”

Terry Pratchett, Mort "

edit: and that link didn't rebut anything I said at all... we're still being condemned to eternal damnation by not believing in him, no matter how good we lead our lives and that STILL means he's not a God worth worshipping

He's indescribable. This is the best we can do. We're only humans.

right.... you obviously haven't seen him if you can't even try to describe what you saw.... you're simply hiding behind excuses now...

No. blissful ignorance hand book 666.

And you know, you don't see Muslims or buddhists here defending the existence of their gods. It's always the Christians. I don't get it.

Well.. someone else has managed to describe him. So he is describable.

Assuming it is a him.

Many religions have female gods. Just saying.

To be honest, he doesn't have a gender. But because humans are creatures needing to relate things, he's a he, as his voice thunders and he's the Father of creation and typically, over all the history of humanity, males have been the (physically) dominant gender, etc.

Here's the thing. You guys view history from the wrong viewpoint. View it from the beginning, before humanity. God has both what we call masculine and feminine qualities. He bestowed men with mostly masculine qualities, and gave women mostly feminine qualities. Everyone and their qualities have been on the mind of God for all eternity before, and will be for all eternity from here on in.
