Phil_314 Posted February 26, 2015 Share Posted February 26, 2015 Vancouver acquires: Martin Hanzal Arizona acquires: Chris Higgins + 2016 2nd Vancouver does this to solidify their center group with a strong defensive presence who's on a solid contract. Arizona won't have many scorers moving forward (though Boedker, Gagner, Rieder and Lessio have potential as solid scoring options, Doan is slowing down at 38, Erat are Vermette are UFA's and probably gone, and they won't have much else to build with) so Chris would fit in the top 6. Higgins holds value as a third liner but honestly anybody who's acquiring him to play in a top 6 role at this point is delusional. Not to mention I just don't think it fits in with the organization's plan to trade away a 2nd round pick in a very good draft for a guy who is out for the season and can't help them win right now anyway...
