thejazz97
I've got a solution! Kessel and Phaneuf for Marleau and Thornton! SJ adds, but I like it.
48MPHSlapShot
was that the post about your sore sphincter? No, it was the one about how bringing in a couple of nutjobs like Kessel and Phaneuf and removing the leadership qualities of the Sedins to do so would be the absolute worst thing for our prospects and would most likely destroy our future. Only a secret Leaf fan would suggest otherwise.
bassetgreg
Yeah, just remember, our Riders here in SK won a Grey Cup with Geroy Simon. We don't want the same thing happening to the Leafs. Yeah Geroy was a bench warmer for most of the season and SK was a good team...a legit cup favorite. The Leafs...not so much a cup favorite... And remember this That was Geroy's final season Buono recognized that Geroy was almost done and acted Geroy had one last great game in him...the SK Gray Cup win and Geroy was a champion
bassetgreg
I've got a solution! Kessel and Phaneuf for Marleau and Thornton! Due to relative ages...San Jose would/should love that deal!
bassetgreg
I hate the Leafs but I see opportunity. A well fed wolf preys on the weak. The Leafs suck right now. They are lower than low. They are definitely in a position of weakness. Benning needs to be a wolf
Monty
Hmm, let's see: Sedin's stats: 138 combined games played 120 combined points +9 combined +/- Salary: $14M Whereas: Phaneuf and Kessel stats: 130 combined games played 81 combined points -41 combined +/- Salary: $15M Is there really an argument here? Yeah... compare the previous 3 years and you will see that Kessel outscored any one Sedin and he is younger so he has more good years ahead of him. Phaneuf being a defenseman is not a fair comparison scoring wise Kessel 214 points in 212 games...94 goals Henrik 176 points in 200 games ...36 goals Daniel 154 pts in192 games....58 goals Kessel has the same number of goals as do the Sedin bros. combined Kessl...8 million Sedins ... 14 million or we can just compare last years stats

Kessel has also outscored Zetterberg and Datsyuk over that time period, and nobody in their right mind would do that either. Sedin's, like Zetterberg and Datsyuk, make other players better AND play a 200 foot game. On the other hand, Kessel is as one dimensional as you get, and Phaneuf is an incredibly replaceable defenseman at this point in his career. Mr.DirtyDangles
Would you trade in two Ferrari's for one Ford? Phaneuf is not even a Ford he is an old broken down Lada.
bassetgreg
If these 2 guys are traded this summer we'll revisit this discussion and you will all eat crow as Kessel fills the net on a new team It seems that a "one dimensional " player who can fill the net holds more value than a so called "2 way" player according to NHL salaries. You just surround them with "2 way" players Kessel is a pure goal scorer! This team needs goal scoring! I don't think the Sedins have ever been known as "2 way" payers and they are not goal scorers
