Two cornerstone players moved, Corey Crawford and Duncan Keith

Two long time Blackhawks, Corey Crawford and Duncan Keith have been moved for huge packages for Chicago's rebuild.

In the Crawford deal, Chicago was able to acquire Esa Lindell, a 1st round pick and Jason Dickinson.

"With the direction our team is headed, we needed to move Corey. We got back 3 great pieces. Lindell is someone I envision on our 2nd pairing, and Dickinson has the makings of a solid bottom 6 C. Having an extra 1st round pick is always great too." said GM PK.

In the Keith deal, Chicago acquired Andrei Vasilevskiy, Nikita Gusev and Slater Koekkoek.

"Vas will be our starter for the next decade. He's a young goaltender who has shown a lot of promise already, and should develop into one of the best in the league. Gusev has been a dominant force in the KHL, and we expect him to be in our line-up for the 2017-18 season, and slot him with Artemi Panarin. Koko (Koekkoek) is a solid young defenseman who will spend a year in the AHL for some seasoning, but ultimately we see him as a top 4 guy in the future."

It's tough to see these guys go, but GM PK has a 3-4 rebuild plan, and he's sticking with it.

Other minor deals, Chicago swaps Graham Knott for Cole Cassels, and acquired Gabriel Bourque and Shawn Thornton for future considerations.
