As far as I can see... No slidey, sorry.

k, and that is because i signed him to his ELC which starts this year on Oct 3rd, back at the end of the regular season and then set my front office budget after that right?

Lesson Learned: sign ELC's at the last possible moment adding to the executives work load for opening night.

Well? We tried to pull off a late summer coup or two.  Got squashed quick! We're light on forwards!

But we have $15 mill in cap space.  Anyone who wants to give away a forward they cannot afford?  We have a home for sorry ass cap dumps! And we're very open to hockey trades.

Edmonton Opening Line up barring any surprise;

Brendan Perlini Joe Thornton Patrick Marleau

Pavel Zacha Frans Nielson Marcus Foligno

Henrik Borgstrom Lias Anderson Colton Sceviour

Curtis Lazar Oskar Sundqvist Nick Paul

Greg McKegg

Rasmus Dahlin Justin Faulk

Oskar Klefbom Julius Honka

Derek Pouliot Andrej Sustr

Ben Harpur Ian McCoshen

Corey Crawford

Alexandar Georgiev (has his signing been posted?)

Great news on Crawford, as i have him in another league, haha...and i see you have Wagner in another league, lol lol lol.

Drafted 99th overall in 2015 by the NHL LA Kings, Wagner had surgery to start the year last season and eventually put up 10g and 7a in 50 games in his first pro year in the AHL. I picked him with the 2nd to last pick of our draft that year, it was Minnesota's pick that i got in a trade with Calgary....i sent them Cody Ceci and Ryan Spooner and got Leon Draisaitl and the pick which is now Austin Wagner...i went on to trade Draisatl for Henrik Sedin after a GML league hockey game I attended and talked trades at while drinking...later I pulled the trigger on it as I was incredibly short on hockey players (*sounds familiar too) and Hank still had at least three years left in the tank while Leon was not guaranteed a roster spot yet in his youth. Glad another piece of the original deal is getting a shot. Note to greensman: i regret that leon for hank trade to this day, and that regret kicked in about a week after we made the trade, but live and learn! you got me there in a big way {Leon's first three years after trade: 51pts, 77 pts and 70 pts; Hank's was55pts, 50pts and 50pts} )

Quote

June 2017 –  Wagner was a key contributor on a strong Regina Pats team that made it all the way to game seven of the WHL Championship against the Seattle Thunderbirds. He plays a heavy game, can cause havoc on the forecheck, doesn’t shy away from physical play and is more than happy to drive the front of the net. Although his stride looks a little awkward, it’s effective and there aren’t many players who will catch him once he gets up to top speed. This, along with his good defensive zone awareness makes him very dangerous on the penalty kill. All these skills could translate into a nice power forward piece for the Los Angeles Kings if he can adjust to pro hockey. If Wagner starts in the AHL next season, it will be interesting to see if his offensive abilities will show at the next level.

edit: fwiw the "moment" i mentally thought i should do this trade, leon for hank, was when, and i don't know if greenie will recall, but at the game he said something along the lines of "if i can't split the twins and move one or both separately, I might quit the game" and in a moment of weakness that lasted a few weeks i worked to help him move one twin...sigh.... but I have toughened up since then, so no thinking you can pull the heart strings and get a good deal out of me. you can all quit for all i care! lol
