IBatch Posted November 9, 2019 Share Posted November 9, 2019 I don’t feel bad one bit for Doughty. Or Kane. Or Toews. Or Suter. Or Parise. Or EK. Or Mathews. Or McDavid. Or Tavares. Or Marner. Or Subban, Or Price or anyone whose ever cashed out and screwed their teams chance of competing. Doughty especially since he scored TWO goals in 2014 Olympics (really could have been anyone - maybe Weber) and was given so many accolades with LA winning a couple of lucky cups (first one especially - Quick pulled a Roy on they one). If he’s so sad about all the losing then maybe he should tell the team to take away two or three million in salary so they can add something. Because he’s getting paid more then he’s worth. Same as Kopitar. Etc etc He can suck it up. They had their time and now it’s their time to enjoy the bottoming out - and by the time they come back up he will be bought out and be playing somewhere else. Enjoy the second half of your career Doughty Pouty. Looking forward to the next time Canada plays in the Olympics and they decide to cut him. Giving him air time when he’s acting like this is priceless. The value is in the comedy, bribing wrong with picking on him - his team beat our follow up on our Stanley Cup run and embarrassed us as an eighth seed. Luckiest team to ever win IMO and then they went out and did it again. Plus he’s always been a media darling (up until now) and he also won a Norris he never should have I think because of that. His true colours are shining through now and his contract isn’t going to help his team and neither is his play. You disrespect the process when you say that, sir. LA went 16and what, 4, that first one? Utter dominance and Quick was just one guy of many who dominated in every situation. Not sure where you got your DD assessment from, but it’s awful. The guy was a Norris stud pretty much since day 1. He could play any style in any situation, which is the rarest of rare in Dmen, and you know it. Pretty hard to overrate a guy who does it all like he has. Lastly, and haha if DD was a Canuck, there’d be streets and schools named after him. I don’t like him and didn’t jump on the DD love parade that started at the Olympics and went on for a couple of years. Lucky cup - that team could barely get into the playoffs year to year - and yes Quick was the main reason they won the first one. However they did it again and the league took notice of their possession stats and between them and CHI it had to be the reason right? Until PIT won back to back cups with middle of the row possession stats and it became about speed (because that’s what teams do - mimic the recent winners) now St Louis wins and it’s about size and balance etc. As far as luck goes - well tell that too SJ, or Vegas, or a multitude of teams that lost game seven and series over the years on bad calls or bounces OR a hot goalie. Luck has something to do with it - not saying that’s why they won (refs putting their whistles away, Quick Quick Quick their first cup - their second cup still Quick but I did admit begrudgingly at the time that I guess they have a team built for the playoffs - since and before t they barely made the show since right?) but yeah they were lucky.
