McDavid, along with Draisaitl, carried his team to the playoffs and whatever happens in the postseason is irrelevant for these awards.

The playoffs are heavily skewing the opinions of fans, I think. McDavid will and should win in a landslide. Playoff performance is completely irrelevant for this award.

I agree with you however I have a little caveat.

The Pens kinda have another Crosby on their team.

 

Crosby -Career 1039 games 486 goals-839 assists +183

 

Malkin career 940 games 424 goals 680 assists +69

 

 

Crosby 174 play off games 69 goals-122 assists +16

 

 

Malkin 170 play off games 64 goals - 110 assists +4

 

 

Crosby is little bit more defensively responsible ie +- however Evgeni Malkin is a helluva player.
