Maple Leafs are excited to sign both to their ELCs and are excited to watch them develop in our system.

We never drafted Xavier Bourgault, but we did trade for him not too long after the draft. Our hope is he because a top 6 forward, and we see him as a potential winger for Connor McDavid.

Now Trevor Wong is an interesting prospect for us to follow. After taking him 117 overall we were excited to draft him, and felt he should've went a lot sooner. Fast forwards past the actual NHL draft he goes undrafted. He again goes undrafted in the 2022 draft. I'm scratching my head wondering where my scouting went so wong on him, as I really thought I seen something in him. Fast forward to today, he is still undrafted at 19 years of age, and has 86pts in 68 regular season games, and has 17pts in 12 playoff games. He's no sure thing by any stretch of the imagination, but deep down I feel this kid will atleast crack the NHL eventually. Time will tell. Excited to see how his development plays out over the next few years.

MAPLE LEAFS TRADE BLOCK

CGY F Nazem Kadri (323pts): Looking for a mid to late 1st + prospect minimum (or equivalent value). Or a top 6 winger on similar deal. His NMC expires at the conclusion of this season.

BUF F Zemgus Girgensons (105pts): Looking for any 2023 pick. First one offered gets him.

2024 NYR Conditional 1st & 2025 TOR 1st round picks: Will only trade away if I get a package that greatly increases my odds of pushing for the GML cup in the next 2-3 years. Deal would also need to include max salary retention. May be willing to add top prospects such as Thomas Bordeleau, Ville Koivunen, and Dmitry Buchelnikov if a good enough offer hit my table.

The condition on the NYR 1st is top 10 protection in 2024. If it lands in the top 10 it becomes an unprotected 2025 1st.

Generally picks with conditions cannot be traded and we cannot include picks in 2025 drafts in trades ( or I would have already dealt them all lol ). 2025 picks become an asset a team can utilize at the conclusion of the 2023 draft. I suppose wording could be made differently as we can't go back in time.

It was technically a 2024 pick pick traded to me, but with top 10 protection which would make it a 2025 1st. By the time the 2024 order is know 2025 picks will be tradeable.

If in reference to my own 2025 pick, I know it's not tradeable now, but it will be shortly so I'm not opposed to starting trade talks early on that front
