I remember JR said he wanted a "roster player" in return for the BO deal , but an overpriced middle 6 winger is the last thing the team needs. Obviously I’d expect more value in return as he is definitely not a bad player. The contracts and cap determine trade value, not the actual player. Sounds funny when you say it, but it’s been like this for ages. Glad we cleared some cap. 5th rounder really doesn’t feel like anything big. jyu Posted December 2, 2023 Share Posted December 2, 2023 Good deal. Cleared the cap, allowing us to acquire Zadorov. Beau showed well on Petey's wing last season but then he wasn't able to drive play on a third line. Beau has good wheels but he doesn't utilize it well enough. I thought he could play a bigger role, guess I was wrong. One of Beau and Garland had to be traded and considering that Garland can drive play, it only made sense to trade Beau.
