As a competitor you would think he has every right to feel that way... it’s not like he’s talking out of his a$ $. He’s got a serious case for it cuz we probably couldn’t have said much if he did actually win it over Petey.

I love Bo Horvat as a player. He plays hard, goes to the tough areas and just what you need in the playoffs. But I think he lacks finesse and on a stacked NHL team I believe he would be an amazing third line center. As a tough to play against guy that can shut guys down and get points at the same time. We finally have a PMD we all been looking for in Hughes and a true number one center in Pettersson. Few more years under their belts I think they should be able to reach the levels I claim. The best thing (that I think) can happen for this team is to miss the playoffs for one more year with all our vets healthy and actually playing. That way we can offload salaries like Sutter, Tanev, maybe Beagle maybe Pearson and maybe just maybe even Louie Eriksson and get something back in return (I know Louie won’t bring back any value) Maybe even pull off a trade involving Virtanen and Baer to bring in more high picks. Maybe we get lucky in the draft and we are able to draft a 1B type center and with Podkolzin, Hoglander and Madden coming I think once those types of puzzles start coming in place for this team then maybe we can win a cup. Do you believe that Horvat is a 1c or 2c for this team till the end for as long as he’s in his prime playing well the way he’s playing now. What do do you guys think?

At this point I wouldn’t mind doing the deal for Lucic cuz at least we would get something back. Instead of having to add assets for someone to take him. Hell even another second won’t be bad from Edmonton. I love JB’s picks but wish the man can learn how to make trades and utilize our cap space (that we HAD)

Don’t care what anyone says. I think with just the first 2 picks alone canucks today came out winners in this draft. Even tho I’m a bit worried we have given up too much for JT Miller. But I hope we can keep it going in the 4th round and steal another gem

I think he’s a perfect fit with Pettersson and Boeser. He could get to the hard to get areas and be the grit on the line with a scoring touch. If we Can add a Panarin to round out the top 6. Hate to also say but if we can trade Virtanen and 2020 second for Barrie. Then we pretty good I think. Maybe to top off a Myers signing just because even tho he would get over paid. With this line up I think we jump right up to win now category. Cheers

I wouldn’t be shocked if Seider ends up being the best D of this class. Stevie Y. is a good GM and has an eye for talent. Sneaky as Hell too.

If he’s playing and the Canucks are winning then he would be happy. Then those kind of issues will become irrelevant.

Honestly this may be the worst news I’ve heard regarding the canucks in a while. Of all the bad news we’ve had in the past if Chiarelli joins the Canucks OMG. If that’s the case I’d be for firing JB even tho I’m not a Benning hater. Isn't there other options other than the one that JUST got fired for ruining the Oilers. I hate these Benning connection type projects that always fail. I wish the Canucks could just pay Benning the money he would be making as GM and make him head of scouting.

Ehlers for Virtanen? Haha Hey Virtanen was drafted higher in the same draft year so a win for the Jets right? Done!

I’m a bit scared of boldy and zegras

Im going to be honest and this may not be a very popular choice by many on here but unless the canucks move up to get Byram I really really really hope Podkolzin falls to us and we pick him. I think in the position we are in picking 10th the best chance for us to make a bang in this draft is only Podkolzin or Caufield. If we pick Podkolzin he would be a good fit with Petey and if we pick Caufield maybe would be a good fit with Bo. This is the only way we can make or break in this draft. All the others I just don’t see it. (I’m just talking forwards here) for D if we can’t get Byram would be nice to get another draft pick later in the first to get Soderstorm or Seider. Before y’all go nuts hating on my opinion just know that I’m just as much if not more of a canucks fan than you. When my family immigrated to Canada in 93’ the fist thing I saw on tv in our motel room (because our home wasn't ready to move in for few days) was a Canucks game. The first time I went to kindergarten the canucks were in the cup finals and buzz around me (when I couldn’t even understand English) I was just hooked from there on. When our family moved to Alberta in elementary school I was literally the only Canucks fan in my whole town. The ridicule I got from my classmates and my hockey teammates for being a canucks fan was hard to bare haha (but got thru it) lol I paid $7000 dollars for 2 center ice seats to watch game 7 in 2011 and even tho I now live in Asia I still catch at least half the Canucks games a season on my laptop and keep up to date on what’s going on to the team. So before u hate please don’t question my knowledge or care for this team.

I’m gonna confess I just pre ordered a black jersey with Pettersson on it for September. Lol i thought at least the black one is a lil more fashionable and easier to wear and match with my street wear. I have a question does anyone know if and when the canucks are going to announce captaincy cuz I really hope they give the A to petey for my jersey sake hahaha. Sorry my purpose of this question absolutely has nothing to do with hockey reasons but the sole purpose of my purchase. Lol

I agree 3000 im not a fan nor a hater of JB but if he acquires Zaitsev and we we end up paying a premium for him instead of getting something more in return because we are blinded to see that Toronto actually wants to dump him. I’d be calling for his head. I don’t care if he does amazing things at the draft or not if something like this was to happen he should be gone or pay him a ton money to be head of scouting or something. But we can’t win with a GM that makes BS trades like this literally every trade he does.

Let’s not dwell on the past. Look what happened with the canucks Jersey release. We couldn’t move on and it ended up being a failure.

Let’s just say you were the GM of the Oilers... Would u give up what u just said above to get rid of Lucic’s bad contract? To someone in your division? Top D prospect in ur already weak D prospect pool, ur next 2 years of first rounders? Do u think even the best gm in the league would be able to? I’d never do that trade but if I had to entertain It'd prob be more like: Boeser for Zucker +12th + next years first (not lottery protected) + a top D prospect. To be honest I was changing my mind as I was writing this haha

I’d rather overpay for Panarin in free agency than overpay in a trade for Zucker. But That’s just me.

It’s a completely different game now since The 90’s. If Ronning was playing now I believe he would have been a much more successful player.
