  1. What are you afraid of? That Fat Jake is going to come to Rogers Arena on game days and vacuum up all the food in the Canucks players lounge?
  2. So much time spent worrying about having enough RHD on the CDC. Check out the rosters of the Habs, Islanders dynasties and other championship teams and you'll find they only had 1 or 2 RHD on their roster, with the second RHD being the 7th d-man. You can win with 6 lefties as long as they are good enough. The problem with the Canucks is not whether a d-man is right or left handed. The problem is that after Hughes and OEL, there is a big drop off in skill level.
  3. Kadri can give a gazillion dollars to whatever charity...he's still a POS on the ice. But kudos for his generosity off the ice and for taking the high road to all the Missouri hillbilly hate he received. Can't stand the weasel, but would welcome him on my team any day of the week. How's that^^^^ for the most bipoloar post of the year?
  4. Looking a lot like Patrick Kane did when he was a hated punk that would dangle the Canucks.
  5. Luke Schenn is just such a likeable guy. I hope the Canucks offer him a contract extension sooner than later.
  6. By Hutton-like miracle you mean a 6-7 dman being placed into a top 4 role only to fade away and find himself in a no. 6 role on another team, then a big no for me. Long term (4-5 years down the road), I'm hoping for something a little more substantial. Given all the positive reports on Myrenberg, maybe a legit 4-5 guy.
  7. You know that McCallum is a senile old coot who's best move is to consent to being institutionalized (jail would be a good place for the demented buffoon), right?
  8. Broissoit is coming off hip surgery, so the trade for Hill is insurance for the Knights. According to Kevin Woodley, goalie guru/writer, Broissoit wasn't on the ice in July at some "mini-camp" attended by a bunch of NHLers that he traditionally attends, so there's questions about whether he'll be ready for start of season. One of the three Sharks' goalies (Hill, Kahkonen, Reimer) would have been exposed on waivers (unless they were going to keep three goalies on opening day), so it looks like they settled on Kahkonen and Reimer. Getting a fourth round pick for a player they would most likely have lost on waivers for nothing is a win for the Sharks. It's conceivable that Hill will find himself on waivers if Broissoit and Thompson are the two guys the Knights go with, in which case, the Knights could very well have thrown a fourth out the window for nothing if Hill is placed on waivers and claimed. As much as I like Spencer Martin and am rooting for him, if the Canucks didn't have the Holtby and Halak salary cap baggage, I would be much more comfortable with Hill as a back up to Demko.
  9. You are a kind and gentle person...me, not so much. Thanks for trying to make me understand. I still stand by my post. Back to Texier. I hope the young man can come to terms with his losses and get his pro hockey career back on track. He seems to have a bright future as an NHL player and it's good to see that he's getting a lot of support from the Blue Jackets management.
  10. You know things are slow in Canuck Nation and it's the dog days of summer when there's 16 pages for another team's signing. I'll chime in...Kadri is still on my 10 most hated list. Though some of the St. Louis Blues' fans rants about him were inappropriate, I hope nothing but monkey pox on him.
  11. This is the pr!ck who ran Rathbone with the dirty hit in Bakersfield last season. It's too bad this POS wasn't sent to hockey purgatory in Siberia. This has-been's North American hockey is all but over.
  12. We need history to repeat itself and have Hockey Ops deliver a Christian Erhoff-type of deal to push the giant boulder over the pebble holding it back from rolling and crushing everything in its path.
  13. You're the same guy that wanted to trade Demko with the rationalization that Spencer Martin could take his spot after his short stint, right? Yah. You have the credibility and insight of a gnat.
  14. That entire Bruins team was easy to despise. Even Bergeron and Krejci were easy to hate. Despicable characters...all of them. Personally, I don't know where to start and where to end when it comes to my hate and rant towards that team. Was actually a little happy when Julien had his health issue and had to take some time off. Hate anyone associated with that team. Even Cam Neely. 10+ years later, I don't hate the Bruins as much, though I still hate Marchand, Seguin, Lucic and the likes and wish monkey pox upon them.
  15. Clearly you're wrong and have no clue what you're talking about.
  16. I agree with you...Jack Edwards is about the biggest goof this side of Ron MacLean. But by Greg Campbell, I am assuming you mean Nathan Horton? Regardless of which of the Bruin was stretchered off the ice, four games for Rome was outrageous and simply showed Jeremy Jacobs carried a bazooka to Aquilini's slingshot with the Board of Governors to whom Bettman reports to. Edit: Forgot this was the Curtis Lazar thread. Love the signing (term and money). Definitely upgrade from Lammikko and Dickinson. Lazar will probably end up the third line centre if they put Petey or Miller on the wing.
  17. @ForzaTikare...what sort of money do players make in the SEL? Does the $500K equivalent make Larsson one of the highest paid players in the SEL? What's the league average?
  18. That's what you get when you put a swashbuckling buccaneer with a stone cold viking.
  19. Personally, I care not if the Johnny Canucks are a sub .500 team as long as the prospects get to play and develop. I am happy to see the Carter Bancks/Cal O'Reilly/Wacey Hamilton wannabes (Rempal, Petan, Bailey, Stephens, Sautner, etc.) unsigned to make room for the 20-22 year old brigade. Hopefully, with the upgrade in the Player Development department, we will get to witness what many of us believe to be what the AHL franchise is intended for. I'll be cheering for Woo, Klimovich, Lockwood, Karlsson, Aman, Juulsen, Keeper, Brisebois, Silovs, Dipietro, Bains, et. al. to develop into bonafide NHL prospects who can step in at some point in time. If they have a winning record while doing so, that will be a bonus.
  20. Most of you have probably seen this and know of Bieksa's famous punch up with Fedor Fedorov from another generation. In case you don't, Bieksa ko'd Fedorov while they were both members of the old Manitoba Moose (I thought it happened outside of the old Rorie Street Marble Club, but apparently it was outside of Earl's, and the only one I know of is the one near Polo Park/old Winnipeg Arena). Bieksa has always been reluctant to talk about the punch up, but here it is...and there's a Brian Burke angle to it. Two of my fave ex-Canucks. Burkie and Bieksa. BTW, in case you haven't seen it, you have to check out these Hey Burkie vignettes done by Brian Burke and Jeff Marek. They are pretty funny. Enjoy.
  21. You're the idiot that argued Michael Jordan played college ball at DePaul, right? Okay. Run along.
  22. ...as well as the Red and Assiniboine Rivers flooding...and don't forget the damn mosquitoes. All Scheifele's fault. He's one of the last guys I'd want on the Canucks as a core player. Maybe a trade deadline rental you use and throw away after a playoff run if the Canucks were contenders, but that's not where they're at.
  23. Did you see the end of season presser from Scheifele? That plus his bumbling explanation/justification of his hit on Jack Evans, coupled with talk of him and Wheeler pushing Laine out of the 'peg leads me to think that he's a guy the Canucks could do without in the dressing room. No substance to what I'm about to say, but I wonder if Scheifele had anything to do with Paul Maurice saying "phuck it, I'm out of here -- I can't take this team any further with this clown in the room." (second part of the made up statement is all conjecture).
