  1. Everyone should be available except Pettersson, Hughes and Demko. That said, trading them to just “at least get something” and accepting a low-ball offer does no good for us either. My guess is barring a long 10 game or so slide like there was under Green, there won’t be any trades until the deadline when any of our guys’ value will be at its highest.
  2. Unless this would be a cap clearing trade that enables us to get a top 4 D or two afterwards put me as a hard no. Every single fan of this team actually agrees on something: we need better D-men. That is the only thing they should be looking for, because it’s our teams biggest hole. Using some of our few valuable assets to grab a winger who are in plentiful stock instead of D, which are rare is management malpractice.
  3. Surely you’re not implying Musk is playing 4-D chess and unbanned him so Tate would reveal his location and authorities would arrest him right? Sometimes even wrong actions can have good consequences. That’s what this chalks up to.
  4. This team really is Jekyll and Hyde. One day they’re playing hard, the next day they’re hardly playing. So frustrating.
  5. Wait you mean Green’s system of playing not to lose and boring defensive hockey didn’t lead to goal scoring as a coach? Whodathunkit.
  6. No joke, but one of the best burgers I’ve ever had is the whisky jack barbecue burger from Romeo’s. I’ve eaten a lot of burgers from a lot of places, but I keep coming back for that one.
  7. Dude is losing it. This is what happens when an internet troll takes control of a social media company.
  8. There’s always the top prospect guy in the draft who struggles at the World Juniors and there’s always the lower ranked prospect guy who explodes at the World Juniors. In most cases the first guy becomes a better player. Sometimes the former falls in the draft and the latter rises as teams put too much stock into the competition, but basing decisions of an entire prospective hockey career on 1 tournament while playing with guys they’ve never played with before often makes the drafting team look silly. Fantilli should be picked number 2 regardless of his performance here and if a team does skip over him they’re likely going to wind up regretting that decision.
  9. The golden goal. History and Canada will always remember that moment. Of course he always did much more off the ice then on in helping communities and kids with all sorts of projects. A great player and even greater man. Well deserved.
  10. There’s more levels to performance in hockey than just cup winners and losers. Clearly I was referencing the modern record during a time when the skate actually stands out on the ice and doesn’t look like “just another jersey” as it did back in the 80’s and 90’s when all teams had the same styles. 5-1-1 and every other alternative jersey game record is godawful, including the Johnny Canuck. Argue all you want about why that is, but the result speaks for itself.
  11. Have you seen our record with it on? It ain’t a coincidence that the Canucks are 5-1-1 when wearing the skate on their chest, including a 7-1 beat down of the Flames. Maybe it’s not intimidation, but there’s definitely something about that jersey that makes the Canucks better and/or our opponents worse.
  12. Dermott! I’ve been anxiously awaiting his return to our lineup because I still don’t think we’ve seen his full potential yet from his limited playing time for us. That and Stillman sits, win-win.
  13. The more choices the better, bring on the emojis! My only observation is that under the negative column, numbers 2 and 5 you can’t really tell if they’re excited or angry.
  14. When you look at the contract and caliber of the players that fetched a 1st or more at the trade deadline in past years, you quickly realize there will always be a desperate team who overpays by a lot to get a guy with less points production then Miller. Someone will want him and pay a pretty penny too.
