  1. height = reach.. longer reach vs short reach generally have advantage.. again Spurgeon have a 6 foot 3 partner that can clear the net.. we might as well just draft all the tiny players out there and have a roster of 21 all full of short players since you said height and size is no big deal.. height doesn't necessary have to be a weakness.. but it is a weakness when you group them all together in the same line.. again no one said any of the players you listed sucks coz they are short.. but they are all complimented by a much taller linemate or partner.. how many times you see out there that employs a line of midget and have success?
  2. lol.. Pearson was fine before his injury.. and he's good at the 2 way game.. you guys for whatever reason like to b*tch at him even though he was only making 3.25mil 30-40 point player responsible defensively.. Hamonic as a player is fine.. nobody could have predicted covid or his anti vax and he's better than most the defenceman we got Dickinson everyone on this forum applauded the move 2.65mil cap hit for a 3c aint gonna make or break ur team.. worse case scenario you bury him in the minor and get cap relief. the D core is trash i don't disagree and i still think we are in for a surprise to see we are still bad on the dcore. we actually had 3 forwards that can kill penalty Sutter, Pearson, Dickinson and we had motte.. sutter and pearson is gone thx to injury dickinson and motte was traded and then allvin went to spend big money on mikahyev for the PK.. replace 4 pker with 1.. wonder why we can't kill PK. every team out there have 3-4 good players.. not every team out there have 3-4 elite level player lol.. when Stevie Y took over detroit how many "good players" did they have?? Larkin and???? maybe bertuzzi if you consider him "good" the seiders raymonds etc were all after..
  3. lol you can't say allvin inherited dog sh*t.. he inherited EP Miller Demko Hughes Horvat that turned into hronek.. if anything alvin inherited more top end guys than Gillis.. although he did have a significantly more balance defence.. but allvin is saddled with OEL contract..
  4. lol sure height does not directly correlate to defensive prowess.. but when your entire line is a midget line.. it expose their weakness to the power of 3.. you can mask 1 short player in a line.. but when you are literally putting all 3 together? i'm pretty sure none of the players you listed above are playing on a line full of 5'8-5'10s.. each guy u mentioned literally plays with a 6+ linemate
  5. we ain't a playoff team if our supposively shutdown line is made up of short players with short reach as proposed by the guy i was originally quoting
  6. who's 6' and over???? Garland?? 5'8? suter 5'11? hoglander 5'9?? this is team midget right here.. unless you are adding 3-4" with skates on lol garland is literally 173cm.. and he's listed as 5'10" if u look at the program that's with his skates on lol.. he even said before he's 5'8".. garland and hoglander is literally in the top 30 for shortest "regular" players in the nhl
  7. i sure hope that's not our 3rd line.. that have got to be one of if not the tiniest shortest forward line in the league
  8. i'm more interested do they have a deal in place agreed on for myers or anyone else for that matter.. if they dont already have a deal in place.. moving those players will be even harder even if pearson starts on ltir.. he's not going to be there all season and the canucks will need cap space as soon as he's back.. unless we already have some sort of agreement to move a player.. putting us further in cap bind makes it cost more to move players
  9. Olli Juolevi.. that pick set the franchise back and realistically cost this franchise a chance to compete for the cup with the current core.. even if we drafted and have to trade MT.. we would have gotten a haul.. the rest of the player.. meh it cost the owner money.. we weren't really gonna compete anyways so it's whatever.. OEL hurts.. but he can still play.. Juolevi is irrelevant in this league.. he was pumped up by a stacked finland team and the london knights
  10. Accruing cap is such a bad idea because it’s just going to be lottery teams accruing cap and continue to use it as cap dump for other teams.. say Vancouver accrue 10mil.. well Vegas can gain 10mil too by dumping to another lottery team for asset.. so doesn’t really do anything.
  11. biggio literally just won last nights game by himself.. and schneider ain't playing shortstop or 2nd base
  12. I think he’s just giving the rookie a day rest to reset after going 0-4 and 2k in previous game. But I would definitely pinched hit biggio in the 9th inning.. dude have 0 chance on 96+mph fastball..
  13. Kukuchi throwing a gem too bad blue jay is back to their non existent offence this series
  14. Lol we don’t just need any Canadian.. we need Canadian that is a core player.. not easy to get.. a bottom 6 grinder or a bottom pairing defenceman ain’t gonna make a difference
  15. that's not good news for toronto lol. they need that wc3 spot to have a shot at playing in the divisonal series i really dont see them getting past houston/tampa/texas/seattle.. either 1st in al east unlikely or last in wc3
  16. Man ryu simply can’t catch a break.. you’d thought he dodged a bullet when a hard line drive rocketed towards his throwing arm he snared down only to be smoked by another line drive off his leg couple inning later. Respect to him for staying with the play before crumbling down
  17. Lol so that means teams are going to have to spend more on players then other owners? Teams like Vancouver will have to spend extra 10+mil per season? Who’s subsidizing the extra salary? Raise everything from concession to ticket by 10%? So not only do we pay more income tax than others we have to pay more money for the same products to offset the cost and taxation for multimillionaire??
  18. i mean the award overtime have evolved into best 2 way forward no longer best defensive forward hence guys like beagle and such will never get recognition. i still think faceoff at least for a center plays a big part in the selke voting and in a away work against EP. another thing that'll work against EP is Hirshier, Marner, barkov etc all plays significantly more PK mins than EP. barkov alone takes almost 150 more faceoff than EP on the PK alone in 12 less games.. basically they rarely put EP out on the PK to start and try not to put EP out on a defensive draw on the pk after a whistle.. EP is not the guy the canucks put out there in the last min of a game defending a lead if the faceoff is in the defensive zone.. 95% of the time it's Miller or Horvat and now mostly miller. i love EP and i hope he wins the selke one day.. but until he improves his faceoff where he can be more relied on for PK and defensive zone draws.. all of those guys will edge out EP unless he is lights out and heads and shoulder above others in all the other categories
  19. i dont think EP will ever win it unless he gets his FO% closer to 50%. it sucks but because he is a center that's part of his job unlike marner who doesn't have to deal with faceoff.
  20. so how does SJ help out pittsburgh?? they literally save 30million out of all this.. and hoffman can be dumped at the TDL for asset.. so SJ is not allow to get rid of Karlsson for money reason?? how many teams in the league can take karlsson at 10mil? they technically didn't even need montreal to make this trade work.. prolly they didn't want petry because he has more than 1 year left and SJ prolly on his no trade list.. Montreal benefits from the trade.. SJ gets out saving 30mil while they continue tanking and will get additional asset on top of the 1st when they move hoffman this year and granlund next year.. and opens up 10mil cap space in year 3 and 4 to weaponize.. i don't see how that is 2 teams helping pittsburgh when each of them benefits in their own way.
  21. stone moving forward will never win a selke... the issue with him is availability.. he's always on the IR.. missed half the season each of the past 2 season.. he only have 3 out of his last 7 seasons where he played almost all the games.. and 2 of them were shortened seasons.. so who knows he'd prolly be injured eventually and be magically out till the playoff haha
  22. not the way it does in the NBA they can dictate where they go regardless if they have nmc or ntc lol.. look at lillard
  23. damn.. Davis Schneider is 9 for 13 to start his career in the MLB..
  24. there's so many comments laughing at dubas.. really he only gave up a late first and a late second.. sure the future doesn't look good.. but if they can get couple kicks at the can with the current core?? why wouldn't you?? Malkin and Crosby is still one of the best 1/2 punch down the middle.. add a Karlsson to that PP?? karlsson might break his own points from last season.. only questionable spot remain is still goaltending.. if jarry is average?? prolly good enough to contend.. at least the penguins won't hold back when it's time to tear it down and willing to actually bottom feed with a bare minimal team and try to win the lottery every season till they are good enough. this isn't really comparable to what the canucks did with the sedins.. the current Malkin and Crosby is still way better than the Sedins and definitely good enough to contend with enough supports.. Sedins by 2014 and on.. is more better suited as a 2nd liner.
