  1. lol coz defenseman is all about points.. EK must be the greatest ever then since he doesn't need to play defence.. 40 goals for 58 against even strength -24
  2. oh remember the 2nd year of QH struggling because of his defensive partner?? i guess he's not a legit top 4
  3. He’s likely going to get top 6 mins in SJ and maybe pp mins + pk minutes. He wasn’t really getting those in Detroit not that he warrants it, but it’s unlikely Detroit would give them that opportunity while SJ will prolly give him those opportunity to start and see what he could do. I mean he’s still a decent bottom 6 players. His advance stats is actually pretty good just his finishing is lacking.. it’s not like Detroit was actually going to put him in the ahl.. they just couldn’t find a trade for him and was gonna see if anyone wants him for free. Zadina wanted out and Detroit couldn’t find a partner.. Zadina was ok with forfeiting his contract so they use the AHL not report as an excuse/loophole to mutual terminate
  4. it's most popular sport in the world because it's also the most accessible sport in the world.. literally all you require to play soccer is a ball.. kids in south american countries can play bare feet..
  5. no this wouldn't work and it's not like soccer FA cup Champions league etc etc.. FA cup Champions league etc all includes team from different leagues.. FA cup includes the division 2 teams etc and champions league includes team from other league.. equivalent in the NHL would be FA cup we'll have the AHL teams competing with the NHL teams.. and champions league would be like competing against teams from KHL SHL etc..
  6. he hasn't really proven anything as an nhl player.. his first years been good and he's been regressing in terms of production every year since.. he wasn't even good enough compared to our bottom 6 last season to stick with the club.. doesn't really take much to beat out our bottom 6.. if he can't stick in the top 6 he have no place on the team.. he's like 5'9 185 lbs.. not exactly a 3rd or 4th line checker.. and 30 points ain't exactly a top 6 material.. beauvilier was averaging over 0.5 ppg when he signed his contract.. if hoglander can average more than .33 ppg and more than 10 goals a year?? he might get like a 3mil on his next contract as he's still going to be an rfa.. rather than signing a 4 year contract that walks him straight to ufa.
  7. why are we even talking about buyouts lol signing bonus is paid regardless of buyout and doesn't factor into anything. his agent negotiated for the late signing bonus to basically futher expand his NTC essentially making it almost like a full NTC.. if he has no desire to move and play out his contract in vancouver.. all he has to do is just list 10 teams that have the most cap space prior to july 1st.. and by september there's probably 0 teams outside of his 10 teams on his NTC that can take him even at 50% retained and probably have to wait for a season ending injury to use LTIR or wait till TDL before he can even be moved.
  8. nashville is already reported very interested in pesce as he would slot in beside josi ahead of barrie and be a direct replacement for barrie next season when his contract expires. nashville seems like a very ideal place for pesce as they have 11 draft picks next season.. and they are not going to rebuild with a forsberg signed during his prime so it make sense if they go for it buffalo and columbus are both up and coming and looks to have a decent future.. they might be on his no trade list or they might not.. i mean he have to submit 15 teams he doesn't want to be traded to but doesn't necessary means all 15 teams he refuse to go to.. the management can always go to him and ask. i have no issue with dangling an unprotected 1st.. let's face it.. this team will never be bad enough to have a legitimate chance at the lottery.. they'll prolly be in the 14-18 range.. adding a pesce and re-signing him turns our questionable defence to a legitimate defence and prolly one of the best in our division.. not just for this year but for years to come.. having a top 3 of hronek pesce hughes and hopefully Willander in a few years will give us a rock solid defence for years to come.. i'm under the believes all our picks/prospect minus willander and maybe lemm is in play.. i doubt PA could convince FA to buy out OEL and tell him the plan is to sign some stop gap player the next couple years and then we'll be a contender.. if his plan was to buy out OEL and use the 2 beneficial cap season for stop gap players.. that's not really much of a plan.. he's 100% going to be doing what he can to make the playoff this year.. otherwise all his moves makes 0 sense ie keeping miller buying out OEL and then going into the next 2 season and hope we play better while waiting for lemm and wallinder to get in the nhl.
  9. sure but there are more teams with cap space that are playoff hopefuls than u think ottawa buffalo columbus the 3 up and coming teams that have the cap space and the draft capital to make it happen. nashville if they want to retool can make it happen.. seattle have the space for it not sure if they need it.. Edmonton actually can fit in a pesce and still be under the cap at 20man and fill the 23 mand roster with minimum depth players. so there are plenty of teams of teams out there that would like to add a pesce.. and not against the cap like u said.
  10. lol there are already a few teams very interested.. buffalo.. nashville.. they have to clear 0 cap space to pick him up both teams have all the prospect/picks required to make it work.. carolina don't need to take back a penny from anyone interested in pesce
  11. any trade for pesce they are not taking back any cap.. so they are not taking our cap dump myers or whoever even at 50% they are trying to add deangelo and tarasenko.
  12. Ya I wasn’t happy about it the first couple weeks and bitched about it.. moved on just like all the other moves. Don’t care about it enough to cry about it forever
  13. At this point it’s whatever now no point crying about it I hope he fully recovers and tear it up in Vancouver. I am concern though how happy he will be in terms of re signing long term in Vancouver knowing he’s not going to get much offensive opportunity and prolly next to none pp1 mins to pad his stats on a contract year. Reason I bring this up. If he’s in Detroit doing his normal thing and stay healthy he’ll get 50-60 points easy that’s easy 8mil-9mil for a top 4 RD buying his ufa years. Hughes is not comparable coz he’s a rfa. If he’s going to be relegated to the 2nd pairing with limited pp mins with the pp2 his production is going to suffer. 30-35 points maybe as the 2nd pair. People will then argue he’s worth 6-6.5mil at best. That’s quite a financial difference based on opportunity.. I still think there’s a chance he won’t sign a long term in Van force a 1 year qualifying offer or be traded where he gets a chance at being top pair with pp1 mins. I believe he views himself as a top pairing pp1 defenceman not a 2nd pair leftover pp mins defenseman.
  14. Yup I think the next couple years 1st rounders are all in play.. if they don’t make the playoff in the next couple years this management group is prolly also gone.. so doubt they care about the future of draft picks that prolly takes 3-5 years before making an impact if any otherwise there’s no way they could have convinced FA to buy out OEL spend to max cap and tell him it’ll take couple years for us to be good.
  15. really?? what sought after free agent did we sign that we didn't over pay for?
  16. he's still producing over 70 points a season and one of the best 2 way defensive center in the league. and not showing signs of slowing down.. he just had his best ppg in 4/5 season this past year.. 7mil is a steal and low risk at 2 years
  17. based on majority of americans have most canadian city on their NTC on top of vancouver not a contending team?
  18. lol nashville is apparently hot on pesce and they easily blow us out of the water in terms of what they can offer thru trades.. they have 11 draft picks alone next year.. and they are also in a position to take on a small cap dump for a year if they have to... i'm resigned to thinking Vancouver have 0 chance at pesce in a trade.
  19. nm i'm surprise he's willing to take such a big risk to mutually terminate his contract.. but i guess it's a good thing for the kid.. at least he still have confidence and believe in himself
  20. i don't disagree he works hard and he definitely did improve.. but at this point i don't think he has what it takes to translate into the NHL.. or at least he won't be getting that opportunity. as a smaller offensive defenceman with questionable defence i think these type of defenceman needs to be in a top 4 role to have any sort of success in the NHL and i personally dont think he'll get the opportunity here or anywhere to be frank.
  21. Rathbone looked lost in the NHL when he was up he was like awful.. if other teams think highly of rathbone they prolly would have already made a move for him as he prolly could be had for well below market because vancouver have no intent on playing or keeping him. sure garland can play in the NHL but he's simply not worth his contract.. his production was god awful both season and his garbage time points made his stats better than it looked. he's not a player that moves the needle and simply cost too much at 5mil for his production.. less than half of his points were against teams that were playoff bound.. and iirc he was -17 or something against those team and +12 against garbage teams i know i wouldn't want him on my team eating up 5mil just to produce against garbage teams.
  22. there's literally no way anyone would take 15mil worth of cap from garland on top of the 17mil worth of actual salary for just a tweener prospect that's running out of runway to make the nhl. while garland might have some value to some teams but prolly all of them have no cap space.. he certainly have no value to those budget teams with cap space especialy with the salary worth more than his actual cap hit
  23. unless detroit is planning on signing another player or using their 10mil + capspace.. zadina can still make the team out of training camp.. why yzerman was hoping someone would take zadina for free.. it's not like he said zadina will never play for the detroit red wing organization again.. and looking at their roster?? i honestly don't see how he's not on their opening night roster.. right now it's off season anyways.. i doubt he can use he refuse to go to the AHL as an excuse to terminate the contract i dont think they need to report till august or september anyways? i still think he have a better chance at detroit than elsewhere.. signing him to league minimum.. and then he gets sent to AHL? and then gets terminated again and he end up with $0 salary? dont see it happening.. i doubt there's a team willing to say i'll guarantee you a roster spot if u sign for league minimum
  24. i think he'll eventually go to the AHL.. i can't see him walking away from 4.5mil.. especially given he might not even make that back if he doesn't imrpove unless his family is already rich.
  25. i dont think the deal will get done in the summer. EP have no rush in the deal only Vancouver is. if EP manages to build on his season with kuz and a healthy mikheyev the entire season and gets himself into the selke finalist the $$ value will only increase.. besides i don't think he wants to lock himself down prior to seeing if this team going to pull the same crap and shit the bed every night for the 1st half of the season again.. i wouldn't blame him.. i mean we've entered the season with optimism for 3 straight years and we are out of the playoff before US thanksgiving every time.
