Ha wow, 319 pages of posts essentially disagreeing with OP. I also think burrows is one of those irreplaceable players who is so versatile that he makes line juggling as a result of poor play/injuries/new players a cinch. He has some amazing chemistry with our top players (Kesler, and the Sedins) and has the grit to play 3rd or even 4th line(if AV felt like it). and he puts in 50 points. and he's 2 million.

With the exception of un-extended RFA's, he's potentially the bargain of the league.

My wife is a manager at a casino where they have a sports bar. One night burrows comes in to watch ufc. After a while of dealing with "holy cow" it's alex burrows and can I have an autograph... (the place is rammed packed) he asks my wife for a private room to watch.

Now she knows that burrows is my favorite player.

She also has a responsibility to the casino to remain professional and respectful to the casinos and the clients needs.

And she's an oiler fan (dads had season tix since 83) so she really doesn't care.

But damn her did she really have to rub it in when she got home.

Burrows has contributed even more than his play.

What he signed for has given the team cap space to play with.

He must be one of few the players in any sport completely dedicated to playing the game and doing his part over monetary considerations.

If I was on the team, I'd be passing around the hat for money to give to Burr so he can make a charitable donation and get some tax break...

Not that he'd accept it...

Burrows has got to be in the top 20 in the NHL for sheer value.

Love this thread. Just love it.

Ah....maybe Burrows IS Clutch. He wrote the OP to start a flame war in CDC! ;)

Ha ha! The funny thing is I could totally see him doing something like that!

I know allot of people are going to scorch me for this but I fail to see the reason why nobody questions his ability to play in the nhl. Every game i watch with him in the lineup(all of them) I find myself screaming at the tv because of the stupid stuff the guy does. Personally i'd rather have any of the guys that are fighting for a spot on the team rather than burrows. Everyone's #1 reason they like this guy from what I read on this forum "He's great on the pk. Who cares! Anyone can do this thats fighting for a spot. He can't score and i'm tired of kesler carrying this guy on his back night after night, I'm tired of him losing the puck, falling down everywhere seriously this guy falls down a hundred times a night can't he skate its ridiculous, stupid penalties its endless. "He plays with grit" is another common description tossed out when his name comes up. That ok sure he pisses off guys but fails to do really be able finish that job off by being able to fight because he can't. IMOP he's an embarrassment to the team. Please Gillis let this guy go keep Krog or Pettinger or Brown whoever. let er rip.
Hurry send this guy to boston
