Thanks OTTS!

It would be a lot easier if your team was Ottawa. It would match your initials..... :D

SIGNNG - Linden Vey

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed Linden Vey to a 3 year 2.7 million dollar contract (900 000 per season)

On a slow and somewhat disappointing night, the Pittsburgh Penguins are elated to have the oppurtunity and the good fortune to welcome last year's WHL First All Star member, WHL Bobby Clarke Trophy winner in Scoring and the Canadian Major Junior's Leading Scorer, Linden Vey.

The Penguins are absolutely beside themselves with giddyness in seeking out and signing someone of Vey's offencive calibre. The organization was amazed this free agent was still left unsigned by the other 29 other teams and signed him to a contract as expeditiously as possible, especially after he recorded 46 goals and 116 points in only 69 games last season!

Linden will take his place on the top line in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, but he is destined to make the main roster sooner rather than later, management feels.

Assignment: Linden Vey to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

LITR: Alex Auld (undisclosed) on the injured reserve (not confirmed from the league yet)

Can't place Scrivens on the roster until Auld is approved to IR by theminister.

Teemu Selanne - 2 goals, 2 assists (1 on the powerplay) , +3 = 19 points
Jeff Skinner - 2 goals, game winner, +1 = 10 points
Maxime Macenauer - 2 PIMs = 2 points
Maxim Lapierre - assist = 3 points
Chris Higgins - goal, +1 = 5 points
David Booth - assist, +1 = 5 points
Ryan Kesler - assist, +1, 2 PIMs = 7 points
Aaron Volpatti - 2 PIMs = 2 points
Cody Hodgson - goal, assist, +1 = 8 points

Total: 61 points, which was 69 points before the Flames broke Luongo's shutout, taking away the Higgins GWG and gave 3 of my players a minus. All in all though, a great night for the Jets with everyone on the ice contributing. I envision many more nights like this in the future for the Jets now that a number of my players are seeming to have found their stride and shaken their early season slump.

Only 2 players tonight:

Tomas Holmstrom - 4 PIM = 4
Toni Lydman - 1 assist = 5

that is pretty sweet for two dudes. anything above a 3.2 average is great by the looks of things.

edit: i say that becuase playoff seeded teams are near or over 3.2 points per man game, generally non playoff positioned teams are below 3.2 points per man game. Not just today, but the value has been stable for over a week.

LTIR: The St Louis Blues place G Alex Auld on the LTIR retroactive to Oct 31.

/ I'd do the others but CDC is putting the temporary kaibosh on PM accessibility.

If someone is on LTIR, can you start them off from the minors?

Say for purposes of a conditioning stint?

NYI Tonight:

Edler: G, 2 PPA = 17
Malhotra: A, +1 = 5
Seidenberg: PPA = 6
Caron: = 0
Bergeron: A, +1 = 5
Seguin: A, +1 = 5
Rask: DNP
Franzen: 2pim = 2
Lidstrom: G, +1 = 7
Zetterberg: A = 3
Bertuzzi; 4pim = 4
Stuart: = 0
Hedman: 0
Gervais: DNP
Vokoun: W = 10

= 64

I would have had an extra 7 points if I had activated Erskine in time but I thought he'd be out another game.

Its my understanding that a player on LTIR if not waivers exempt when being activated goes to the active roster or would need to pass waivers to go to minors. I would see no problem if you activated a player from LTIR and sent him to the minors if he is waivers exempt.

Make sense ?
