MINNESOTA WILD TEAM AWARDS

Top Goalie:

With a shaky goaltending duo at the start of the year, the acquisition of Jaroslav Halak has solidified the crease, and is the top goalie in Minnesota.

Top Defenseman:

Once again, veteran Marek Zidlicky was a vital player this year. He has been the best offensive defenseman this team has had for the past 5 years.

Rookie of the Year:

While the Minnesota Wild didn't utilize many rookie players, Joel Broda got the most NHL action with 5 games, and has a bright future ahead of him.

Top Point Scorer:

Simon Gagne amassed 42 goals, 46 assists for a total of 88 points in 82 games.

Top Goal Scorer:

Once again, Simon Gagne also led the team in goals with 42.

Top Defensive Forward:

The most underrated player on the Wild, Kyle Brodziak, who has been limited to a defensive role since the acquistion of offensive depth, has been a horse on the PK, logging over 240 minutes, 60 more minutes then runner up Tim Connolly.

Qualities of Perseverance and Sportsmanship:

Marek Zidlicky is getting up their in age, and suffering injuries nearly every year, but still somehow manages to lead the team in points by defenders. Theres no questioning his perserverance.

Player who Displays Gentlemanly Conduct:

Simon Gagne, once again, only having 22 penalty minutes, and accumalating 88 points. What a season for this guy!

Most Valuable Player:

Without a doubt, Simon Gagne was the Most Valuable Player for the Minnesota Wild's 2012/13 season.
