If he can get Patrick Kane, I will be extremely happy. If he can get Jonathan Toews, rainbows will be pouring out of my mouth.

As impossible as this might be I would love to have Kane on our team. Imagine him on Kesler's wing feeding him perfect passes! What do you think would make that trade ever happen. LU + ???

Toronto: Gardiner or Franson
Chicago: Kane
Tampa: Connolly or Malone or both.
Florida: Gudbranson or Huberdeau

It will likely be a player like Malone from Tampa or Komisarek from Toronto.

A useful, but overpaid player.

The problem then is we will have several guys in that category, with Malhotra, Ballard, Booth Raymond (maybe) and the new guy. So someone will have to be moved in a separate deal, if possible.

The "moj" should stick to talking about football, cause clearly he has no idea what he's talking about.

He actually said that if we were to get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Luongo, "we would make off like bandits" :picard:

I can't believe how undervalued he is by "fans" in this market. The stupidity from alot of these people is amazing.

I saw one proposal on the Sportsnet.ca comments page:

To Leafs: Luongno + Kesler

To Canucks: Komisarek + Kessel

...I think this person may have been a Leafs fan :P

Seriously though, IF Luongo gets traded to the Leafs if Franson is part of the package that comes back I wouldn't be upset.

If Gillis made that trade, Id be the first dibs on the public flogging.

Lu's contract, age, and declining skills give the Nucks little leverage. You think the Leafs are going to give up two good young players in Ashton and Franson/Schenn for a 33 year old, on the downslide, with 10 years left at 5.3 per year ? If you were a G.M would you make a trade like that ? You will be lucky to get one productive player back from team that takes on that contract.

Burke isn't just holding onto picks, he wants to build a team and cannot do so by trading away quality young players for older, declining players who come with absurd contracts.

What?.... What are you babbling about? Lu was in the cup final last year and was argueably the best player for game
1 and maybe 2 too bad the second line was useless all series.

We will get decent return , if not id rather keep lu and get rid of Cory if the return is better.

We wont get a decent return unless its in a larger package Ballard ,luongo and raymond type situation (just throwing random names out)
Why would anyone over pay for luongo?1. He is way over paid 2. he is past his prime and has a contract till 44. 3 we have a goalie playing with the same numbers but just reaching his prime..
I agree with you luongo has a wonderful resume, but with that contract the time for high trade value back was 2-3 years ago. Which is sad the best goalie to wear the canucks uni will be walking away for scraps or even a team just picking up his contract in exchange for another horrible contract
example luongo to toronto for mike komisarek (guessing the spelling)

seriously if you were Chicago's GM would you take almost 10 mill in salary??? i just find it ridicules when people package raymond/ballard in trades and think that it makes the trade more appealing to the other teams.

This might happen when thhe world completely falls of its axis, or if MG lost his mind. Whoever said this was not weighing the options.
It only takes one hard fought series to make a rivalry
