gordfish
Overrated player with Canucks fans in my opinion. I'll probably get flamed for typing that, but I still think he's overrated despite his salary.

BabychStache
I say the Canucks reward him on his next deal by front loading a 6 year deal. 6 years at 20 mill. 5,5,3,3,2,

TimberWolf
I don't feel bad for anyone being paid the league minimum, they are still set for life if they are smart at all.
Baggins
Pretty tough to feel bad for a guy that makes more in one year than I'll make in twenty years.
Bang Bang Boogie
I will never feel sorry for a professional athlete. They get paid tons to play a sport...a sport. Burrows is going to cash in anyways. I'm thinking between 4-5 million per year.
coho8888
For me it is not about 'feeling bad' for any millionaire or pro athlete. It is about fairness and equitable distribution and if that is not addressed the workforce rots from within. You work at XYZ corp.,for instance.Buddy next to you was just hired for four times your wage and yet working side by side with him or her it is obvious that you do the same amount of work -and maybe more-plus you do a more thorough job. The GM won't renegotiate your contract, despite the fact you are being paid four times less than the newbie and you have made a much greater contribution to the success of the company. That is when your GM is a dick and you are being used.
Ovech Trick
Great players don't have be paid super amounts to prove how good they are. Salary only goes to show how valuable they are, while stats show how good they are. For example, I couldn't find they article about Salavdor being resigned to the Devils, but he had only 9 assits in the regualar season, and got a pretty nice contract. Vigneault's Timeout
I don't feel bad that he makes less than others of equal or lesser skill in the NHL. I do acknowledge that he could be making far more. He's one of my favourite players and his value to this club is very significant.
GradinToSmyl
My GF is Indonesian. She has a university degree and teaches high school students. She walks an hour to work and then an hour back for ten dollars a day. Four months of the year she is not paid. No benefits. I think you are spewing nonesense - which is crap. poetica
I absolutely understand what everyone is saying. When you live in a crappy 1-bedroom apartment and can't afford a car because rent is so outrageous and yet keeps going up each and every year while the quality of the building continues to decline it's hard to feel sorry for someone becomes a millionaire another time over each year. But, it's not about us. In the hockey world, Burrows is in fact a steal. He took an incredible deal for the level of player he is and showed yet again his commitment not only to this team but also this sport. Our scrappy lil Burrows is the perfect embodiment of commitment. Long play #14!
Vansicle
Can we apply this logic to anyone? Stamkos isn't a legit 60 goal guy, he just has great linemates.
Cody9
Legit 30 goal scorer? This guy would be a 15-20 goal scorer if it weren't for the Sedins. Also, no. I don't feel bad that he's getting paid millions to do what he loves.
GradinToSmyl
I don't disagree, at all . . . but Stamkos has the Twins for linemates and he scores 70-80 goals. Think of a better example.
D-Money
Burr has one year left on that deal. He'll be making double that on his next contract - I hope it's here.
magoomba
OMG some of these responses... I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. Ya making millions as a hockey player is great, but let's not forget these guys only have a 10 to 15 year career if they are lucky. After you retire, you're missing all your teeth, have bad back and wonky knees. Burrows has shown time and time again he's a clutch player and is a fan favourite. People say trade him, he's not irreplaceable. Is anyone in this league, besides Crosby? But you don't to piss off your fan base with this kind of attitude. Look what happened to the franchise after they traded away Linden. Ya he was probably past his prime, but he was the heart and soul of the team.
