That's because Schneids is better among other things, so we will be keeping him.

I'd take that and run...overpayment? Who cares.

We trade our 1B centre in Kesler for a 1A centre in Toews who is arguably one of the best players in the world and at the age of 24. And for Schneids, I could care less with this deal...we get a top 5 forward in the league in return and Lu is more proven than Schneids so I would be really comfortable with Lu, especially when Toews, a better centre and player than Henrik, would be our 2nd line centre - that'd be just unreal; we'd have 2 meta-powerhouse-mega lines with Toews and we'd turn into true contenders instantly with Toews amazing offensive skill and even better defense.

....he alone would make out 2nd line complete...no more sign Doan bs or we need a top 6 player...shows how great of a player he is.

Kesler can't get it done in the playoffs on a REGULAR BASIS.

Guess who can?

Oh right, the guy that had like a fricken 20 game point streak in the playoffs.

I'd do this trade in a heartbeat. I don't care if we're overpaying, i'd rather overpay for TOEWS than have Luongo/Schneider sitting on our bench for 50+ games.

36 points in 56 playoff games seems fairly consistent for me. That's almost 0.70 points per game.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Do you know how many problems Kesler brings to our line-up? It's stupid how he's a shootfirst center, i've said it a million times, not a single team has won a cup in the past decade with a Sniper (In the OZone, i guess you could say he's a TWF but whatever) as their 2nd line center. Not a single one.

You could say Kesler is "built" for the playoffs, but not really. He risks himself to injury due to his recklessness, while Toews plays a clean game. He's pretty much Kesler, but better offensively (passing > shooting as a center) and almost just as sound defensively. Isn't that what the 2nd line is for.. Y'know, secondary SCORING? Kesler is so damn inconsistent. Leave the defensive stuff for the 3rd line.. What's the point of the 3rd line if you can't use them to shut down the 1st line of opposing teams?

If there was one guy i had to put on the ice to shut down a top guy, it would no doubt be Kesler. If i had to score 1 goal to save my team from elimination, you sure as hell put out Toews. (Comparing Toews - Kesler, forgetting the Sedins) Kesler will never truly be a #1 center, while Toews is a #1 center on almost every single team in the NHL.

So we trade our Selke winner in Kesler and our new #1 in Schneider for Toews and we continue on in the playoffs with Luongo? What makes you so comfortable with Lu, the fact he doesn't implode 3 playoff games in a row?
If an NHL top defensive forward cant cover up Luongo's deficiencies, what makes you think the Canucks will fare better with Toews?
