Replacement Players!

The key difference is that Sopel can fill in for Seabrook and Campbell just fine. Bieksa, he is garbage so in that sense he is like the worst defenseman in the league.

When Cody (Hodgson) gets older, he might be better than Datsyuk.

Let's not push this guy (Kassian). He's still immature, and if he fails on the 2nd line it's because he isn't ready. Some guys really need years to develop, it's how well and how fast players adapt to the game. In my opinion, I'd rather have Horvat getting 2nd line minutes. He will start off on the 3rd line next season but I see him making the transition, being a great compliment to whoever plays his wings.

At this point, I don't see Kassian fitting in to any role other than a 3rd. If players like Kassian start getting 2nd line minutes then we just stay inconsistent as a team.

The idiocy on CDC....

Interesting to hear Jarome Iginla is willing to sacrifice a whole season to get a better deal. Maybe no hockey at all is better than the hockey played in Calgary. Hyuk.

He might be right. He might've lost some money. But Modano's doin' just fine. (Except for the recent divorce.)

The players will lose an entire season and end up caving to the the owners next summer. So what's the point.

Check your egos and accept a deal.

Sadly, the truth is the players need to cave for this to move forward.

The players need to understand that they are the employees, they are not taking the risks and associated costs that ownership does and they are not the group who runs this League. I ask people to simply read the old CBA, in it you can see quite clearly the players are given everything. I mean they are being paid to live and on top of this they make an enormous contract. Per diems, compensation rent/mortgage, travel expenses during any transaction, etc.....

Not at all whining about how good the players have it but im trying to point out they are paid very well and taken care of by their respective teams to the point where other than minor inconveniences with scheduling they take no hit. The players have it very well and as a member of the Red Wings recently said the owners won't let a union push them around.

I am sorry at the end of the day the players need to conform and accept the reality of their situation ( not belive they are entitled to more than whats realistic ) or we wait and wait for the game which will lose many fans yet again over this, but gladly those fans can enjoy hockey at other levels. For the most part people are getting real tired of this and the players are not gaining by waiting.
