The avengers was awful... the Hulk gets mad and attacks everyone on the plane, yet when he gets mad on the ground he can somehow tell friend from foe?

Thor as god of thunder can't summon a storm and kill every last invader?

They didn't put any limitations on the superhero abilities which is what makes the entire thing strange. I mean individually, Ironman has to stay powered up, the Hulk has to harness his anger (usually unsuccessfully, except when a girl he likes is present), Thor can't kill his brother and becomes mortal upon entering Earth. All of these limitations are present in the individual storylines (like superman and kryptonite) yet somehow when they make a megahit movie, the pure enjoyment factor is that they are all untouchable?

I rest my case, the Avengers was a terrible move.

Right on. It was AWFUL.

George Lucas, already an insanely wealthy man, seemed to get much richer on Tuesday, with Disney acquiring Lucasfilm-- of which Lucas was previously the sole owner-- for a jaw-dropping $4 billion. That's actually a reasonable price to pay when you consider what they're getting, but it's still an enormous paycheck, and maybe a slightly ridiculous one for a man who has absolutely no need for the money.

But say what you will about where Lucas took the Star Wars franchise with the prequels: the man who gave us Jar Jar Binks is also a mensch. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the vast majority of the money Lucas made from the Disney sale will go to charity, specifically his George Lucas Educational Foundation. Lucas said in a statement:

Well, with Lucas Films now owned by Disney, at least the Star Tours and Indiana Jones rides at Disneyland are no longer out of place.

George Lucas is a smart business man. Sell now before the Obama tax increase happens January 1. Saved himself almost a billion dollars.

Bumped into this today...

Star Wars job goes to Toy Story 3 writer

Hollywood scribe Michael Arndt will write the next instalment in the Star Wars series, Lucasfilm has confirmed.

Arndt won an Oscar for best original screenplay for the 2006 comedy Little Miss Sunshine. His screenplay for Toy Story 3 was nominated for best adapted screenplay in 2010.

He has also co-written the second film in the Hunger Games trilogy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the latest Star Wars story will focus on a new generation of heroes.

However, there could be appearances by actors Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher in older incarnations of their characters - Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia - from the original Star Wars trilogy.

Harrison Ford, who played space smuggler Han Solo, is also reported to be interested in reprising his role.

Ford's Hollywood star rose with his appearances in the three Star Wars film, which he followed up with his role as archaeologist adventurer Indiana Jones and films including with The Fugitive and his Oscar-nominated turn in Witness.

Hamill is an in-demand voice actor and Fisher, who struggled with drug addictions throughout the 1970s, is a successful novelist and screenwriter.

In October, it was announced that Disney had bought George Lucas's Lucasfilms company for a reported $4.05 billion (£2.5bn) and was committed to producing three new films.

George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy will produce the films but have yet to hire a director for the project.

Pixar alumnus Brad Bird has been touted in the movie press as has British director of Kick-Ass, Matthew Vaughn.

Star Wars: Episode 7, the next film in the franchise is due to be released in 2015.

I think this screenwriter seems to be good.......now they just need a good director to go with it.......Brad Bird is likely the number 1 choice.....since the screenwriter is from Disney

It would have to be based on the time before "A new Hope". (but after ROTS) There have been a few books based on that period of time, although nothing really noteworthy, IMO.

If this is truly the case, it's a curious decision. I think there are much better storylines that could be pursued. The Rise of Darth Caedus, The Yuuzhan Vong invasion, or even a trip back to before the "rule of two", when the Sith were as plentiful as the Jedi. They could segue to the time of Bane...

etc, etc...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the reason for selling to Disney so George Lucas doesn't have anymore input on this, now he's slated to produce the film? Clusterbuck incoming.

I'd say the mistake is getting your daughter interested in skating in the first place.

My daughter is 14 and in her 7th year of figure skating. including tests, costumes and competitions, I'd estimate our yearly costs at about $5000....
