thad
That would be sick if he all the sudden figured it out and turned into that 3rd overall stud he was supposed to be haha

Ilya Mikheyev
Hamhuis - Bieksa Edler - Garrison Ballard - Tanev Alberts, Barker Connauton, Mullen, Sauve and Joslin. Good depth, but I still see one more tweak coming.

Rypien37
seems weird that he agreed to a pto and then signed on the first day of camp.
WHL rocks
Hmmm, Interested to see how he works out. Not sure how effective he'll be but if he can stick as 7 or 8 D and provide depth it'll be alright. Other wise he's familiar with Chicago.
Bombastik der Teutone
poor guy..would have won the cup in 2010 but got traded to minny @ the deadline if i´m correct good signing
Markus Alexander Cody
There's still one big trade likely coming with Luongo, so maybe Tanev is that young player needed to get a young player out of Nonis, who knows? Or maybe Ballard is going with Luongo and Canucks will take some of the cap? If not, I see Barker starting off as a 7th or 8th guy, and playing an Alberts like role and if he make the best of it, moving up more often. Visp
we need this season from him again- if so, keep him in top 4! 2008–09 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 68 Games 6 34 40 Points 65 17 3 6 9

Strombone1
I think they saw what they needed to see from him already (player skate sessions and previous seasons). We did hear they've had their eyes on Cam Barker for a few seasons now.
Ilya Mikheyev
Honestly, I think Gillis would rather prefer to keep Tanev and maybe ship out Ballard because of the cap.
JE14
If he could get back to his stats with the Blackhawks.......
-Vintage Canuck-
@David_Strehle VAN's signing of Cam Barker good sign for Flyers. Canucks had reportedly been requesting Dman for Luongo, should squelch rumors for good.
Ilya Mikheyev
Another key is that it is a 48 game season in a very short period of time, he might get more games per capita than usual because of this. Alberts - Barker would be a pretty huge bottom pairing!
GototheFlamestotheGo
Solid zero-risk signing that allows the Canucks to focus on bolstering their offense and future with any upcoming Luongo deal rather than trying to get back Dmen for depth. Very good deal.
-Vintage Canuck-
Vigneault on one-year Cam Barker deal: "Our guys felt he has a lot of potential. It reminds me of Chris Higgins going through four teams."
Trelane42
I'm confused. This guys is just a more skilled version of Alberts but prone to even more defensive lapses. Thought the farm would handle our 8-10 depth requirements. Ballard going sooner than later?
