He has 2 shutouts in 9 games played, a gaa of 1.44 and a SV% of 0.941. Can't really argue with that stats line, he's been stellar. Although this might've been extremely boring to watch, in a 0-0 game it's really: the first team to make a mistake their goalie can't bail them out of is the loser. Luongo was perfect, we win, now let's look forward to Detroit.

Was it just me or did Nash play a ton of techno? Was not expecting that from such a music rich area.

HAHA you are essentially saying techno doesn't count as music!

Yeah - a shutout is not good enough. We want negative goals for the other team.

Canucks 1 : Preds -1

If Schnieder was in it would have been 1 : -3

Not the most entertaining game, but a win is a win.

Hopefully Bieksa is okay. If he can't go in Detroit, I'd like to see Barker get a shot. A 3rd over all pick and only 26 means he should have something in him.

That would be interesting but what the hell would the lines be? I liked Tanev and Edler today, looked like Tanev might be able to step up here.

Yeah, it's obvious to anyone who likes intelligence and fairness, but Bettman's selling parity right now. Great for league revenue too. Pretty hard to move up or down in the standings when everyone gets points every game.

Yup! Hard to sell hockey in non-traditional markets where the team gets beat all the time. I've seen worse reffed games for sure but, after two non-calls on infractions agains Hansen and Burrows that took away prime scoring chances and then watching the refs call Burrows late in a 1-0 game, I couldn't help but think about the "game management' strategy of the NHL.

With Barker in, and we have no more righties, I'd go

Hamhuis -Ballard
Elder -Tanev
Garrison - Barker

I think Ballard has played well this season and may be the best leftie to convert to the right side.

Don't worry, Schneider fans will be whiny that Luongo got a shootout. They'll try to ignore the fact he was the only person playing in the entire first period and say he had the easiest shutout ever because the canucks started to play good after he carried them while they got up to speed.

"Schnieder" fans are actually Canucks fans dufus, and most people are also Luongo fans because he's a canuck but realize he's on his way out.

Only children like you think people are rooting against Lou. Most fans want to see a win, regardless of who's in net, don't know why you don't get that..

Some of us just don't suck on a soother at 25 yrs old because MG is trading the focus of their bromance.

At least they won.

I had a feeling who ever scored in this game first was going to win. Congrats on the shutout Luongo.

Don't see how people think Lu did so well. He's being sheltered against weak teams. Nashville's offence is one of the worst in the league. If they didn't have Rinne they would be battling for Mackinnon/Jones.

I'd say a shutout is pretty well, actually quite well. Sheltered? Yup, first year being a fan?

Clearly you have not seen or cared to read most of the posts that people will try to thrash either goalie on whatever chance they get. There's people that will post all the time when Schneider wins and Luongo loses, but if Luongo wins they just won't even bother to stick around. I also don't like being referred to a child, or called a dufus for no reason other than for you to try and sound like a smart ass. It's actually surprisingly rude in general how many things you tried to squeeze in there to try and talk down to me with. Are you one of the people bitter about Luongo winning or something?

Good win! Especially after that painful first period. (Though, to be fair, fear was all that kept me awake...)

Stellar performance by Luo! He saved their butts in the first when the rest of the team was still apparently on their way in from the airport.

Really hope Bieksa is going to be okay. Not sure what happened, since he obviously seemed like something was wrong even before a relatively light hit. Hope it's just something minor and he'll be back in the lineup soon!
