chrisbanks Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013 We did not get outplayed all night like some people are suggesting ... 25 shots to 17 going into the 3rd infavor of canucks howard saved the game with one of the saves of the year on burrows wich wouldve put them down 2-0 detroit went up 2-1 off some bad penalties but we were generating more offence than detroit through 2 periods.... then luongo crumbled and let in a stinker and it killed us ..having a hard enough time with a hot goalie at one end our superstar goalie needs to shut it down in the 3rd and he did the complete opposite all 3 goals were stinkers ..clearys goal was a good shot but lu was deep in his net and got flat out beat. The problem now is the next game.. only thing we could predict through a schedual was schneids plays in Minni and Luongo plays the wild at home.... 9 goals against in his last 2 games in a big game situation comming do we go back to him? it would have to be a gut decision because he certainly hasnt earned it with his play the last 2 games. ilduce39 Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013 I'm not sure if firing AV would help or not, at least not mid-season and I'm with the guys on 1040 when they say he's earned the opportunity to try and right the ship. The bottom line is, at the moment, Kesler at 5.0, Booth at 4.25, Ballard at 4.2 and Schneider at 4.0 are all out of the lineup. That's 17.45 million dollars not in the game right now, about 25%. Saveable shots for sure on a couple of them, but it's more those deflating damn bounces that always seem to go in against us lately. It's mostly the entire team. It looked like we just shut it down after the first period. You're suppose to play 60 minutes, sometimes we're lucky to get half a period these days. We just looked like we quit playing when Detroit took the lead. No energy, no motivation.. and this is an OLDER team that played the day before. Like come on guys.
