cbones13
CANUCKS NEED A LITTLE THING CALLED SCORING! THIS SHOULD BE THE MOST UNPOPULAR POST OF THE YEAR. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS BUT I AM MAD AT THIS RIDICULOUS OPINION AND I HOPE MANAGEMENT DOESN'T THINK THIS WAY ANYMORE. GILLIS NEEDS TO PULL THE TRIGGER NOW! cbones13
"Schneider doesn't know how to handle situations like tonight". OMG some fans. Forget the goalies they're either hot or they're not and Schneider's pretty frickin solid and consistant, and his save % is the telltale sign of a no. 1. Enough said. Yeah let's waste 7 million on someone who will probably sit on the bench at least for 95 % of the playoffs. Stupidest fracking logic ever!
VicNuckleHead09
Schneider lets in two goals that weren't his fault early in the game directly after he posts a .99 GAA and a .964 SV in the past six games and all of a sudden he is "not ready"??? Are you kidding??? Relax everyone it was one terrible 5 minute defensive strech. The Canucks (and Schneider) will bounce back like they always do. wizeman
I really wish we could keep both goalies. But I understand the cap rules and both goalies need to play daily or they get rusty. I sure Gillis will work it out in the off season.

BenSurgeon
With the salary cap, the Canucks or any team for that matter has the luxury of having 10 million dollars tied up in goal when they need help on the front end.
Mount-Canuck-More
Anyone know where I can buy the AV goalie coin? Is there such a thing? .......Anyone? Go Cawolves Go!
Kesler's Nose
No, it disrupts team chemistry and we could have more assets at forward for one of our goalies. We need to make a trade before the deadline, if we don't the only thing I see is a quick playoff exit.
NuxFan09
Schneider got yanked after the first two shots on him. He barely got a chance to settle in. The Canucks don't need to keep both goalies. That's the WORST case scenario at this point. They just need to trade Luongo and be done with this whole situation already....
The Magician
If we keep both goalies, we won't be able to add a cannon to our weak offence.
Zuongo
6 great games by schneider then 2 goals in 2 mins makes him not ready...? The canucks fan base is the only thing I hate about this team. Your an idiot stop posting threads that get discussed every 2 hours.
Adamth
i still feel we lack speed. though we got run over by Oilers with speed and skill.. none could keep up..
DownUndaCanuck
I wouldn't exactly say he doesn't know how to handle situations like this. We didn't give him a chance. He didn't have a chance on either shot and AV had a quick trigger finger. Cory will be just fine.
Smashian Kassian
Schneider hasn't been consistent all season long, and he's getting his big chance this year. 5 great games in a row followed by a stinker. He sucked to start the season, and has only really played 10 good games all year long. He clearly isn't accustomed to a full-time workload or the pressure of a starting position, and no one expects him to be with no experience at that position. That being said, Luongo has been inconsistent as well. He was the best goalie to start the season in the NHL, then tailed off when Schneider became the hottest goalie in the league for a week and a bit. This is why the OP is right - the Canucks rely on goaltending more than any other team in the NHL, especially with their shoddy defensive scheme and lack of forward depth right now. We need this goalie tandem because if we relied on either goalie 100% of the time we wouldn't be in a playoff position. Both goalies have had tough stretches, and when they have the other has stepped in admirably and saved this team. Work the tandem. Teams have won Cups doing it before, and if its going to happen again it'll likely be in an abbreviated season when other goalies are burned out over playing in such a condensed season. The unlikely has already happened with a Gretzky record falling, a winning streak record to start the season falling and soon enough another win-streak record falling. MG better not move Luongo at the deadline - we've worked this tandem well for the last couple of seasons, there is honestly no reason it wouldn't work in the playoffs. Play one goalie until he has a bad game or two, then substitute him in for the other. I'd rather throw in a rusty goalie who can heat up after 1 period of play than have a mentally and physically exhausted goalie play every game and burn out by the end of the series. Smashian Kassian
No - they have to keep both for the simple reason that NOBODY else wants them. NOBODY else wants them. If they did - one would have been gone by now.

Brick Tamland
We were never going to have trading partners in Dallas or Calgary. Their geographic location played a big part. We had the pieces to trade for both those players, but not the partners.

Forget trading the goaltenders, lets trade Gillis for Shero.

All his talk about not afraid to make the tough decisions and bold changes are BS.

The Pens were already cup favourites before the Morrow and Iginla trades but he still felt the need to improve their team.

If that was Gillis he would have stopped after acquiring Murray...
