We're pretty quick to slam AV when he makes mistakes. Not playing young forwards, mismatching the lines so much you want to throw things at your flat screen.

Consider this....with the amount of injuries we have had this year we are still firmly atop the north west. We went on a six game winning streak with five of our regular forwards out...and we continue to win. In my opinion, this is all coaching. Granted they were'nt the prettiest wins but the fact remains he got the job done. What more can you ask of a coach?

I would not be upset to see another short extention Coach AV. His supporting staff? ...mmmmm not sold.

But this is cdc...aren't we supposed to still be calling for " fire AV ! " ?

The numbers speak for themselves, many people here don't like his style and question his decisions but he remains one of the top coaches in the game and continues to add to his success here in Vancouver.

If our goalies don't stand on their heads this season AV loses his job.

Yah way to dismiss every other player on the team's effort... Most teams need their goalie to be the best player on the ice. What if Crawford or Bobrovsky or Hiller was playing like crap where would those teams be? Part of a coaches responsibilty is getting their players to play their best and the last time I checked the goalies were coached by AV.

Our Goalies stellar play is not a knock on AV... it only helps the case that he is a great coach.

AV is not a bad coach, in fact, he's a very good coach. Most of the criticism ebbs and flows with the team's wins and losses. He would be snapped up very quickly by another team if the Nucks let him go. This is a coach that has had a lot of experience guiding a winning team.

The most reasonable complaint about AV is the length of time he has been coach. Some think that the team has 'tuned him out'; others that his system and MOR have become stale.

The biggest problem is who would replace him if there was a change. The better coaches in the league are pretty secure in their jobs. Bringing in a less experienced coach could have a negative factor on a team of veterans.

For now, I want to see how the team does in the playoffs. If they have a good run, then I don't have a problem with AV. If it's another lackluster series, then it's time to make some changes.

It was difficult to hold him fully accountable this season when we dressed so many AHLers.

If we're able to put this together by seasons' end and then finally stay healthy, we could go far. Injuries are always paramount with this team.

He is a top coach surrounded by a solid staff, some may argue that last part lol.

The Canucks have never been in such a positive, stable management/coaching situation before and it is the plan the team is following moving forward. I see no reason to believe there would be a change at any time in the near future, except for say the odd coaching staff member.

There is not a better option out there currently to coach Vancouver, don't take that for granted.

As opposed to tanking with talent? OMGZ The Canucks have good players... :frantic: Fire AV!!!

Not sure you can say he is getting by with talent when Ebbett was the second center on the depth roster due to injury/GM moves for a lot of this season.

I used to think he's such a genius coach, but after the finals, my opinion of him has been constantly declining.

He keeps juggling our lines and he always come up with a new combination.

Last year, we went into the playoffs without set lines.

Sure, Daniel was injured, but he had ten games or so to react. He did a poor job on adjusting to that situation.

Same thing this year. We're always missing key players, but that's not an excuse.

We need to have a proper set of lines that gel well together.

Our lines keep rotating and I fear that our lines would not have any chemistry come playoff time.

for ever fan who wants AV fired, there are guys like me who believe AV is the best coach for the canucks.....he gets the blame for LA knocking us out in the first round....the coaches of all the teams LA knocked out of the playoffs last year most be the bad guys throughout the coaching ranks.....
