Scott Hartnell's Mane
I deffinately do not think she is even a mediocre role model. I just believe what she/they did was inappropriate. this generation of teens is effed, I can't imagine the next one!!!!!
Newsflash
OP should be edited so that the end reads, "P.S. I am not a crackpot."
VancouverCanucksRock
I'm more concern of kids having guns, having sex, and doing drugs than them having a fake ID to get into clubs. Be kind to one another.

Dion Phaneuf
Doesn't really matter. Most kids have a grip of the real world by the time they enter high school.

250Integra
What a role model!!! Man, the media today is such a joke! There were these two "toddlers in tiarras" type little girls on the show there today(was waiting for the news to start).Anyway, she gave them tickets to some junk in Las Vegas, and she said that "since Las Vegas is a town for adults, I've got something for you" (or something to that effect), and she reaches back and says "here are some fake ID's for you" and hands them some "fake I.D's. Now the kids have this idea of fake ID's in their heads and how cool Eellen thinks they're cool! As if these kids weren't gonna be whack enough when they grew up. Wow....I am just disgusted right now

DollarAndADream
I'm sure those kids would have heard about fake IDs some time in their life anyways. None of the girls at my high school were given fake IDs by Ellen, and they managed to get them on their own. I'm sure high school is even worse now. I actually enjoy Ellen a little bit. hockeyville88
Sophia Grace and Rosie? They're definitely overexposed. They were cute back when they first appeared on the show but now they're just annoying I don't think Ellen meant any harm by giving them the fake ID's though. It's obviously a joke and they will have people there with them - likely their parents - making sure they don't get into any trouble in Vegas. And Ellen is always telling them how important it is that they stay in school. I believe she even gave them a paid-for shopping trip to buy only things that would help them in school. Ellen is a role model. She has changed peoples' lives with her advocacy. Who knows how many people have gained the strength to come out because of her. Who knows how many suicides she's helped prevent. Ellen puts a smile of the faces of millions of people every day. She is truly an incredible human being

-DLC-
Actually, it all depends on how it's handled by the parents. Kids are going to "hear"/"run into" all kinds of things out there in the big bad world and the key is tuning in by the parents so they can delve into situations that require some intervention. No biggie in my mind...every single thing like that is an opportunity if you make it one. "Mom, what's fake ID?" There's your window..... Every situation can be used as a learning experience for future reference if you're on the ball. I honestly think it's worse to shield kids from everyday phrases and conversation that they'll encourter along the way. Expose them to it and teach them in the process. Fathoms
Adolescence is actually a myth invented by G. Stanely Hall in a book published in 1904, and it's ghost is the primary justification for why the young are segregated from the rest of society, and penned in like livestock in public schools on a scope and scale unprecedented at any other time in history. Giving children fake I.D's goes a long way to restoring some of the dignity that has been stolen from them.
