Patrick Kane's tearful post game comments

One cab incident ? How bout all the party incidents ? He is the biggest floater in the game, and for some reason this rat gets a free pass on the ice every night. He rarely gets hit by anyone ? He stays away from the nasty areas because he knows he will get rolled. Sure he has sick hands and foot speed but could not fight or check his way out of a wet paper bag. Take away his line mates and protection and he is a second line player at best. He does not create any of that room to score for himself he is a f..king garbage collector and nothing more.

Let's see...doesn't fight, doesn't check, doesn't get hit, and stays out of the "nasty areas" so he's a garbage collector.

1. You're just plain wrong.

2. Do you really think this is the right thread to be bad mouthing Kane? We're talking about his grandfather passing.

3. The way you described Kane could also be used to describe the Sedins so are they garbage collectors?

Note: Just to clarify I don't think the Sedins are garbage collectors, I'm just pointing out the hypocrasy in his statement. The Sedins are great forwards.

I rarely post but this has to be one of the worst post I have read so far this past 12 months (considering 2014 is only one month old).

Have you ever watched him play besides the Canuck's games against the Hawks? Although he doesn't do it ALL the time but he does go into the dirty areas to get pucks and to play the puck. In addition, have you ever thought it might be him being skilled that he can avoid a check or avoid being hammered. Furthermore, as mentioned previously, he is definitely not a floater considering the stats that he has throughout the season.

I honestly thought of him as a douche in the past because of the cab incidents and the parties. However, you have to understand he was a young player with a ton of money to waste. In the past few years, if you have ever watched his interviews after games (which I had), he has much maturity in his tone and in the way he presents himself. He has truly matured off the ice and he has matured on the ice in the way where he can constantly contribute every night and know how to play the game in a smart way.

I am definitely not a Hawks fan but I respect players on the Hawks (minus Keith of course) and they are definitely a good team.

Very insightful post!

Maybe Hawks should see if they can trade Kane for Matt Martin or Steve Ott?

If Bowman is really lucky he might be able to get Orr and McLaren for Kane!

Very unfortunate, I feel for him. Potting two goals is a good way to honor his grandfather.

he's still one of the biggest douches in the game, ever. but you gotta feel for him.. buck up little douche.

He isn't even close to top 25 biggest douches in the game.

The irony in the fact that people are trying to call him a douche in a thread that is about his grandfather passing and his emotional reaction to it, is huge. Anyone who comes into a thread about someone being very upset about a family member passing to call the person a douche, is definitely the definition of a douche. Grow up.

Biggest floater in the game...? Really?

Didn't know David Clarkson played for Chicago..

2 time Stanley Cup champion, top 5 in league scoring, top 10 in league scoring past 3 years... hmmmm..

Seems legit, or is my rationale "f..kin garbage" as well

I watched this game last night thinking why WGN would carry it if it's like 9:30pm local time puckdrop. Anywhoo when he scored they referenced this story, I guess I wasn't close to my grandparents as he was with his. But didn't he cry when his coach Savard got fired? THat's a little too much sensitivity.

Completely different situation tho.

And a Conn Smythe winner as MVP of the playoffs..

The Sedins create openings and opportunities for everyone, they are constantly being hit, run, slashed, Kane has loads of protection to run around like a chihuahua. He floats around while Sharp and Toews do all the work.

Yes you are completely right and I apologize for bad mouthing Kaner in this particular thread. I am just so sick of the nuthugging for Kane especially on a Canucks site considering the Hawks are our all time nemesis since day one of the franchise.

Just my opinion of a player who has Sharp and Toews do pretty much all the work while he FLOATS around sniping the puck into the net. He is the quintessential definition of a FLOATER.

So stats determine if you are floater ? I watch a lot of hockey and yes i have watched many Hawks games not against the Nucks. Sharp and Toews do everything on that team and Kane picks up the lose scraps on a nightly basis. That is exactly what a floater is.

If you're going to compare Kane to other Blackhawks to prove he's a floater them don't pick Sharp. While Sharp does have his good moments he also makes his share of blunders. Toews, Hossa and Saad are the most complete Blackawks.

Regardless, Kane is certainly not a floater. I've followed Kane's career from the beginning and during the early years he was more selfish but that's not the case anymore. During the playoffs he worked just as hard as anyone else and he was an on ice leader as much as anyone.

You don't have to like Kane, that's fine. But if you're going to critique his game then do it right.

It's a Canucks site but it's the General Hockey Discussion board. I know there is a rivalry between our two great clubs, but it's always best to respect your opponent.

If what you're saying is that the whole line should have the praise then I agree.

The best lines in hockey are compilations of different styles. If everyone wanted to be the scorer then the line would fail. It's like watching Kesler last year (he has seemed to change this year). When everyone wants to score and there isn't a sum of the parts situation then there is no success. Don't get me wrong I love Kesler, I was just using the situation as an example.

Look at the Beatles. They all hated each other by the end but they did well right? That's why arguing is silly. Think about it. A successful line ( or team ) is successful because of adaptions with common goals. It's not about the measurement of kane, in relation to the support he gets, it's about the big picture. You're arguing about grains of sand on a beach bud.

Either the best troll post of the year so far, or the dumbest. Either way I lol'd.

And to those calling Kane a douche: yeah he got too rich and too famous while immature and made a couple bone headed decisions. He's a lot more mature the last year or two though. And in my opinion, is one of the most exciting players to watch in the NHL.
