Presidential Planes!

Recommended Posts

Hey!

I decided do this thing because I thought it would be nice. some planes are cool and I think some people hare enjoy this.

I´m showing just the main/biggest plane since countries like USA, Russia, France, Germany and believe or not Brazil. have more than one airplane designed for presidential use. so I´m just showing the biggest one

PS: from presidential planes my all time favorite is the Russian IL-96-300. don´t know why. just think the IL-96-300 looks badass and since there´s no MD11 here I will stay with the IL-96.

damm Putin! ask the Ilyushin make a new generation of the IL-96!

ok. let´s go.

Which one logs the most flight hours? My guess would be the Canadian jet, but Obama golfs in Hawaii, so...

maybe Putin or the Brazilian jet...

Putin because Russia is big and the Brazilian one because mr´s Dilma loves use the Brazilian people´s money to do nothing!

Pakistan and India obviously are competing.

Pretty neat to see.

MD-11 is really outdated now. I don't think any country would use it.

I'm pretty KLM has or is about to retire them from their fleet.

do these planes go faster then ordinary planes?

any plane with "equiped with "air command and air post" capacity." will probably be slower due to crew and surveillance equipment. Private planes are faster due to the low passenger and luggage count.

Can't really say which are specifically faster though without doing research.

so the Air Force One. a very modified B747-200B may be updated but still is a B747-200...

the CC-150 Polaris is also outdated, actually even more than the MD11. the MD11 have a glass cockpit...

in terms of "stock" (not modified) plane the B747-400ER, BBJ/BBJ2, ACJ and A330 and A340 are by far the most advanced ones.

BUT if you consider modifications so yes the IL-96 and the VC-25 are the most advanced ones...

ok. maybe Kim Il Sun from North Korea might consider their IL-62M the most advanced ones but North Korea lives on a diferent reality :P

but for me. none beat this one...

800px-60bc_-_VASP_MD-11%3B_PP-SFD%40ZRH%

sorry folks. but the VASP MD11 was unique...

actually not. they have the same cruise speed of their "stock" versions but their range is greatly increased...

and the IL-96 and the VC-25 have "in-flight refuel" capacity...

Interesting. I don't know much of the subject so thanks for the correction.

I know Air Force one is going to be replaced with the new Boing 747-800 announced just a few weeks ago.

All I'm saying is that switching to an MD-11 is stepping backwards. They were great planes but no where in the same boat as a 777, 787, A350 and smaller newer planes.

Ive been on a tour of a decommissioned air force one 747 that is on display at the National Air and Space museum in Washington DC. Pretty ballin ride if you can swing it.

They also have the space shuttle Discovery there. Even more impressive but you dont get to go inside.

yes. it´s the logical choice for USAF. B747-8 will increase even more the range of their operation.

still don´t know why the Canadian Air Force don´t get a B787 instead, or some ACJ...

The Boeing 747-8 (the next Airforce-1) is the longest passenger plane in the world.

Quick fun fact: Any plane that a current U.S. president is on is called Airforce-1. If they took him for a ride in a small Cesna-150, the pilot would have to change the Cessna's call sign when he radioed to the tower.

Only if it's an USAF aircraft...otherwise it's Marine/Navy/Army One.

Or Executive One, if civilian-owned.
