Imagine If we lost trying to win the Asterisk Cup.... like in the finals or something oh the uproar lol.

I'd rather just have this season scratched and focus on next year.

Or worse.  Imagine if we won.

No other team's hockey fans would ever admit it was a legitimate Cup win.

How could we riot and do social distancing!

Playoffs are coming!
and we’ll be playing against the Ducks in the first round.  24 teams in - no fans, and BC a host province.
It will be the best thing to watch on TV this summer. Get set!

Nice to be optimistic!

It does look like thy are settling in on a 24 team playoff and two hub cities instead of 4.

Vancouver has to be a leading contender to host just because of our Covid numbers.  Add in the numbers of rinks for practices and games we have available and that is a hard package to beat.

The one thing that could do us in though is the 14 day quarantine for travellers.  It means the other hub city couldn’t be in the USA and all the teams would have to come and do their training camps in Canada.

meh who cares. Do you think Toronto would cancel the parade if they won? we need to get over what other fan bases think.

this "asterisk" thing is a bit ridiculous. Does anyone do that for 2012/13? nope. For the original 6 teams when it was far easier to win multiple cups? nope. For the no cap era teams? nope.

is this a weird year, yup. Will it be somehow easier for a team to win it all? nope.

Exactly.

No one mentions that the Hawks second cup was won in a shortened season because it doesn’t matter. The playing field was equal for every team.

The biggest factor for this one will be the lack of fans but again the playing field is equal. No one will have an advantage.

Im sure there will be teams and fans that complain or try to discredit it. But anyone that thinks this will somehow be an easier cup to win, are mistaken. Once you put those players out there they all have the same dream of winning the cup and will do whatever it takes to win.

My only hope is that they can stick to 7 game series. Because anything less and you could start to make the argument it was easier to win.
