  1. Hmm, in your post I quoted, you blamed Qiunn.
  2. Sorry iBatch, it was Stan McCammon (Orca Bay CEO at the time) that botched the Gretzky trade. Quinn had him ready to sign ‘in the morning’. Stan called Quinn and insisted it be done that night, pissed off Wayne, so no Canucks
  3. Miller is 28. He is playing the best hockey of his career. He will likely be a ppg player for the next 2 years as we start to compete. yah let’s trade him for the ‘future’....
  4. That is a great spirit. I know you will get back to being you soon. We do have a great group of people on CDC. We all have different opinions and some do get testy at times, but overall we all care about our community here. I am your fan. All the best.
  5. East bound and down, loaded up and winnin'A-we gonna do what they say can't be doneWe've got a long way to go, and a short time to get thereI'm east bound, just watch ol' "Canucks" run With help from Jerry Reed.
  6. Hope you are doing well. And I hope hockey is easing your pain! Best wishes for you!
  7. So sad. My heart goes out to those people. Here I sit in my BC home with worries that don’t compare.
  8. Get well and all the best. Crappy situation regardless of details, try to have a good Christmas.
  9. I disagree, apprentices do get advised, but also offer valuable insight. Both Smyl and Jarvis have been here long before the Benning era: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stan_Smyl https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doug_Jarvis Read the bios, both have had years in coaching and experience. Their relationship is with the Canucks organization and valued in that capacity. Not so much a relationship with Benning. In later years, ‘Benning era’, they were probably involved more in the business side, admin, daily operations etc. rather than the ‘hockey side’ and player decisions.
  10. I'll give it a go.... 1. Smyl and Jarvis have worked in our front office for years? 2. Advisors to bakers are called an apprentice, that's how they learn. So do the bakers by listening to new ideas. 3. The Sedins have been involved in this league for years. Good management listens to practical experience. 4. I have met and worked with many advisors over the years who were not necessarily managers but knew the ins and outs of my huisiness. To sum it up, they ADVISE based on experience. Management is successful when they listen, doesn't mean follow everything advised tho.
  11. Probably will Alf. Its a tall order, but stranger things have happened.
  12. We have 55 games left. 2/3 of the season. Anything can happen...
