He traded players who are no longer in the NHL for players who are in the NHL. Those are clear cut wins. If you were a fan of the other teams you would want that GMs head. He took less valuable players and got more valuable players. It doesn't matter if he traded 1 for 2 or a 2 for a 4, he still won those trades clearly. The only one still in the air would be the Baertschi trade which I feel was a win for both teams. Baerstchi wanted out and Calgary landed a good pick in the 2nd round.

3 full seasons out of Granlund who is defensively responsible for a MG Bust. Win Motte is having a decent season. Vanek was an expiring vet who is known for doing nothing in the playoffs. Win I dont even need to continue to re-explain how the Canucks won every single one of those trades. Just see my post above

Goldobin for Hansen Baertschi for a 2nd Motte for Vanek Granlund for Shinkaruk Pouliot for Archibald Leivo for Carcone Hansens gone, Goldobin in NHL Baertschis 2nd became Rasmus Anderson - Good trade for both teams I'd say. Vancouver with the edge getting a 20+ goal scorer, too bad about injuries Vanek never resigned with Jackets and didn't win squat. Mottes a great 4th liner. Granlund for a bust A 6/7 Dman for an AHLer 30-40 point forward for an AHLer I picked the trades that had a young NHL player coming back our way. Benning came out like a bandit in all those trades.

Good for the flames, let's focus on our prospect. Juolevi, though injured has showed great promise.

No offence, but you can't cherry pick elite players when doing a check like that. Of course when a guy like Kopitar explodes onto the scene with 61 points in 72 games, you know what you have. How about guys like Nick Bonino, who at 24 wasn't even a full time NHLer. What about Baertschi who was having his best start of a season at 26? What about Silfverberg whom at 24 only had 23 points and wasn't even a full time player in the NHL?

Your projections suck. Tanner Pearson is an NHLer by all accounts. Snake bitten maybe, but he's great in his own end, and is good for 40 points not playing in LA. Love how you don't count Dorsett who was great for this team, and was it not the pick for Garrison that landed him? Garrison who did nothing in Tampa, really.

67% is still crazy high turn over.

You know that most people peak 27-30 right? It's very rare for someone to peak at 24... That's like saying Horvats, and Virtanen are basically coming up on their peaks.

I think their career highs will be similar, but Dahlin is the better player for sure, or else Juolevi would have already been playing for the Canucks. Though I would place a strong bet that Juolevi is going to have a more successful career than Edler/Tanev

go on....

Have to agree with everyone else. Petterson is a much more complete player is not playing with the players Barzal had/has. Not to take away from Barzal, but Pettersson is definitely the better of the two. Barzal could've definitely lost the Calder had Boeser been given the chance to reach 40 goals.

[Rumor] Panarin Interested in Vancouver

Ovechkin hits, he has been a 2 way force for a few seasons now. If he was "1 dimensional" he would not be a first line player in todays NHL. He is arguably the greatest goal scorer in NHL history, take your hater shades off, the mans a legend on and off the ice. Brad Marchand is a douche on the ice and an absolute gem off the ice. I know Taylor Ellington personally and he knows Marchand very well and has said he hated playing against him, but he was a class act. Listen man, I'm not $&!# talking Panarin, he is a stud and one of the best wingers in the NHL, just not the best.... Sorry, but there's a couple guys ahead of him, but he is definitely elite. -

1. Alexander Ovechkin (He does not "need" someone setting him up, EVERYONE knows where he stands and where he shoots, yet he still scores.) 2. Brad Marchand (Whether you like him or not) 3. Johnny Gaudreau ("soft" player with 84 points this season) 4. Artemi Panarin 5. Johnathan Huberdeau Those are my top 5 LWs in the NHL. -
Why can’t this guy make the NHL, I don’t get it
